*About Onsen Ryokan Tax (¥150 per person per night): Hakonetent is an accommodation with onsen. You have to pay Onsen Ryokan Tax when you stay in an accommodation with Onsen in Hakone. We will charge you when you check in.

All guest rooms are simple. Decorated and equipped with heating facilities. There are shared bathrooms and toilets. Towels can be rented at charge.

We loved our stay at Hakone Tent! One of the best accomodations we experienced in Japan. The place is very cool, it is an old house that has been renovated in a way that combines modern and historical style. There is a cozy bar where you can buy reasonably priced drinks and food - I really recommend eating there since there is not a lot of restaurants close to the hostel. There was also two private onsens, the other you could reserve and the other you could visit with no reservations. Both are open 24/7 so

Nice place to check out Hakone, closer to everything at the end of the train line up. 10% discount in cafe beside. I met a few other solo travelers in the evening and the 24hour Onsen!
Top tip: Everyone goes to the bar at 18:00 for pizza so show up before to get a seat or wait until after 19:30 when it quietens down a bit.
