This area is known for its vintage shops, art galleries and nightlife. Travellers tell us this hostel has sturdy, comfortable beds and that they?d stay here again. We like that they offer daily bicycle rental.
Property Description
A chance to spend the night on the site of a former brewery and an unforgettable experience in Berlin! The Pfefferbett Hostel Berlin is located on the historic 'Pfefferberg' area in one of Berlins hippest and trendiest districts - Prenzlauer Berg. Right next to our hostel you will find artists' workshops, galleries, a theater, restaurants and a beer garden with its own brewery - they all breathe new life into the industrial heritage-protected area.
During the buildings reconstruction in 2007 the modern interior design was conceptualised in stylish contrast to the industrial architecture of the 19th century. In the 20 feet high lobby, with its historical ceiling and contemporary wall paintings, the coming together of past and present is particularly apparent. With the plain forms, materials and colors the furnishings of the hostel contribute to the unique atmosphere of old and new.
The central location and the good travel connections make the Pfefferbett particularly attractive for all Berlin travelers. The underground station 'Senefelderplatz' (underground line 2 or U2), that runs from the eastern inner-city via Alexanderplatz and Potsdamer Platz to the 'City West', Zoologischer Garten, is located right next to the 'Pfefferberg' area. 'Hackescher Markt', Mauerpark, the Museum Island and the boulevard 'Unter den Linden' are within 15-20 minute walking distance and the nearby neighborhood scene offers something for every taste. A weekly market, restaurants, bars, clubs, authentic shops, a lot of different bio products and, of course, the famous Kastanienallee are right around the corner!

The hostel is great. It has 24h reception, bar/café, security is good, and the places are very clean. Lots of great restaurants nearby, and the subway is at the door. In my dorm, the bathroom was clean, the shower is great, and the room has a locker that opens and closes with the entrance card, which is awesome. The only thing that I would point out that wasn't good is that people didn't really hang in the commom areas, so I didn't get to know many people.

Staff is really good. Breakfast is good. The place is clean enough. Though there's no kitchen but staff is so helpful if someone needs anything.
The lockers are pretty good in fact. There is inbuilt lock which works with the key card.

Pfefferbett Hostel says
I think what really puts us ahead of the rest is our excellent location. We're set within a historical brewery complex and multi-faceted cultural centre with galleries, studios, clubs, restaurants and a beer garden. This means we've combined 150-year-old industrial architecture with modern interior design. There's also a wild, quiet and lovely garden and sun terrace. Best of all, we're central but you'll still get a quiet night's sleep.
The nearest attractions are Alexanderplatz (two stops by subway or 10 minutes' walk) and Museum Island and the Hackescher Markt (two tram stops or 15 minutes' walk). I also recommend visiting Tuefelsberg at Grundwald - it's one of the most secretive Cold War locations in Berlin.
I think our hostel is ideally suited for backpackers, young couples and small groups aged 20 to 30. We offer a single room which is suitable for disabled guests and our hostel is equipped with an elevator.
