I booked online a few days ahead of time. When I got in-country, I called. They said they'd closed down months ago. Lost my deposit and had to scramble to find another place.

Stayed at 3 hostels in UB and this was the best. Host is excellent, the hostel is very clean and the location is excellent for transport links and to get to the main chinggis khan square.
