Property Description
Located on the northwestern edge of the town centre, the Cultural|Youth Hostel Karslruhe appears between Karlsruhe Palace, the College of Engineering and the College of Education. The Youth Hostel provides four common rooms and a leisure room with table tennis and table soccer. On the outside there is a playground as well as a volley ball, a basketball and a soccer court.
Karlsruhe is in the Upper Rhine Plain between the Rhine and the Black Forest. The streets of the town, the former residence of the Grand Dukes of Baden, spread out from the palace in the shape of a fan. Vast forest areas and parks extend right up to the town centre. Many museums, art gallery, theatres, the botanical garden, zoo and sports venues promise an interesting stay. The hostel is on the edge of an extended play and forest area, about a 10-minute walk from the town centre.
Most of the 42 rooms (170 beds) are equipped with washbasins. In some cases two rooms split a shower and a toilet, otherwise there are showers and toilets on the floors.

I thought it was nice and clean. the breakfast was really good and included. I think most of the guests speak German there. the problem I had with it was first you have to take a tram from the main train station and then it's also it's a 10 minute walk from there. I had trouble getting to the train station on time after checking in do to the 30-40 minutes round trip time.

I stayed only 2 nights, off season, so I had a shared room only for me. I arrived late and the receptionist was very helpful. Didn't have breakfast so no opinion about it. It was a good deal overall.

Great location, about 10 minutes walk from a fairly lively part of town. Not the newest of hostels, but the staff were great. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice
