El Cafecito is well located. Near to parque Calderón. About 15 minutes walk. Cuenca is a pretty town so you’ll enjoy the walk. Across the plaza in front of the hostel is mercado 9 octubre. You could easily get food from the mercado or vendors at the plaza (be mindful that shops closes by 5 pm) unless you go to the centro. There are pharmacies and lavanderÃas near by. The hostel itself is quite charming. Tony the owner is very helpful with tips on what to do. I enjoyed the conversation with Tony.

My recent stay at El Cafecito-Cuenca was unforgettable. Tony is an exceptional host, always there to help whenever you need him and knows so much about the city. The fellow travelers from around the world are very warm and welcoming creating an atmosphere of fun and excitement.

I stayed more in this hostel because I felt at home and that's what you're looking for in an accomodation. Right next to the mercado (30s walking distance / 10 mns walk from the main Bus station. Also Tony (host) is very knowledgeable about the surroundings (Cuenca, Ecuador, SouthAm), friendly and helpful!Big plus is the rooftoop/terrasse with a view and air :)
