Although the hotel says 24 hour check in, in reality, no staff are on site overnight. I called around 10:30pm to inform them of the Amtrak delay and I would probably check in after 11pm. I was told no problem. But when I arrived at 11:45pm, I couldn't get in. I called a dozen times. The person who answered my call was not an employee, and she just hung up on my calls. I was forced to be on the street for almost 2 hours after midnight.

The city house hostel is camouflaged in an alley, conveniently located near the train station and the French quarter, so very convenient for travelers on foot - inside, the facilities are huge - huge kitchen and living room, even study space, dorm rooms with space, comfortable beds and plenty of bathroom/showers for the travelers personal privacy. The staff and fellow guests were helpful and nice, also, and it wasn’t loud or disruptive during my weekend stay; I felt safe.
