Perfect for getting off the gringo trail and seeing real Guatamala. Great location for visiting lots of places including the biotopo del Quetzal, orquigonia, coffee tour, Cobán city - all by local bus. The area felt really safe and the locals were always there to point me in the right direction. The host is really friendly and I enjoyed our conversations about Guatamala. You can eat breakfast at the hostel for Q15 and dinner for Q20. The facilities are basic but it's worth it for the experience.

I had a great time! Friendly staff and a rustic, authentic, Guatemalan experience. This is a small hostel, not a party hostel, and you're effectively living with a family. It's off the beaten path, and it's a different experience from all other hostels I've stayed at. Within two blocks there are several fruit & vegetable shops, tacquerias, a bakery and a pharmacy, as well as a little convenience store at the hostel itself.
