Property Description
Caballito's Mar services include lodging, bar and restaurant, and kayak tours to the Nicaragua Lake and Istian River (guests use one hour free kayak to watch sunset ). This is a rustic infrastructure place, with a friendly and alternative atmosphere.
We are located right on the shore, in Merida rural community, in front of the Maderas volcano foothills in Ometepe Island. Here you can appreciate the day to day life of the local people (fishers in the lake, children walking or playing in the surrounding, women washing clothes in the ancient laundry rocks in the proximity). The panoramic views to the Concepcion volcano, and the Rivas coast (main land) are beautiful.
Caballito's Mar has two private cabins with AC or fan, a private room with fan, and a small shared dorm room. All beds has moskito net. All room options are next to the central restaurant and bar area, where you can eat, take a meal, ask for tourism information or arrange a guided tour or transportation to any of the island’s attraction.

Check in from 13:00 to 20:00.
Check out before 11:00.
Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards.

A quiet hostel with very friendly staff. The food was very well priced and excellently flavoured. The dorm is small and each person gets a key for the door. It’s a good place to kayak from.

We absolutely loved staying here!! Kayaks were included in the price and they offered a guided tour of the river for a cheap price. The view of the lake is amazing, food is yummy. It is isolated but we really loved having a bit of peace watching the horses and the fishing around the lake.

Lovely to be on the river, beautiful views, very friendly staffs and free use of the kayaks is a great bonus. We were looking for a chill relaxing place and this was perfect - however nothing really around and very far away from everything.
