Summer House Cairns is a resort-style backpacker accommodation located in tropical Cairns, the gateway to the Barrier Reef, and minutes from the Cairns Esplanade. The property is located close to Cairns Airport at the start of the Esplanade. A pleasant stroll along the waterfront esplanade will have you arriving in the centre of town in 25 minutes where you will also find Cairns Central Shopping Centre, Cairns Night Markets and the famous Esplanade Lagoon.
We offer a free shuttle bus running every 30 minutes into the heart of cairns as well as free bike hire to explore the beautiful surrounds.
We also have stunning facilities including an enormous lagoon style pool, volleyball court, onsite bar with pool table, restaurant, free parking, numerous common areas, lounges, gardens, a tour desk and free bike hire. Guests can also benefit from free yoga classes, table tennis, excursions and nightly events. As well as one tv areas with a large book collection.
All rooms are air-conditioned with free lightning-fast WiFi available throughout the entire property. Guests also have access to free lockers, towel hire and their own cutlery.

A nice ish hostel just outside of Cairns. Location isn’t central but they run a very frequent free shuttle all day which was great. Rooms very basic and bathrooms could be updated. Kitchen was ok but too small for how big the hostel is. Nice vibe for having a drink in the bar in the evening without being too loud!! Very near the airport.

I'm sorry to say the staff are the worst part of this hostel. They're just so surly and disengaged. I was on crutches and I could take care of myself but only once (in over 6 interactions) did someone ask if they could help me open a door when I had hands full. *** was a stunning eye opener into the dr**s of society and s**t karnts.
