I came to Rijeka for a conference at the university, so the location was good for my purpose -- short walk or 2-stop bus ride from the hostel. It sits above a bar, so a little bit noisy...
Security was good enough (key pad lock) except that guests would just leave the front door open.
I was suspicious that 1) no hostel staff were present and all of my communication with the host was through WhatsApp and 2) payment was cash only. But it worked out, so I guess it's ok.
A/C was a godsend!
