Stayed at the Hoey Moey whilst in Coffs Harbour for 2 nights as two 23 year old women. The hostel itself (if you can call it that) did not feel safe, there were huge groups of strange people hanging around who made us feel quite uncomfortable at times. The kitchen was very very unclean, rooms were ok and good enough for the amount we paid. We made do in the end but did not enjoy our stay. Only plus side is you’re about a 30 second walk from the beach (but the complete wrong end of town) and you have the Hoe

Would not recommend for solo female travelers. The bunk rooms are full of men that have been staying for weeks to work and there is no AC so the rooms smell like sweat. It is not the place for travelers. Also the shuttle that is advertised to transfer you to the bus only runs through working hours which does not help if you are taking the greyhound.
