We last minute stayed at Macondo due to some road closures/ strikes in Colombia and ended up staying for 4 nights! The hostel had a lovely lovely atmosphere, very sociable, chilled and friendly! The staff were so amazing in helping up during this time and I couldn’t recommend staying enough! There’s also great access to all the activities and the faculties were also great!

I would definitely recommend this hostel. The owner is the nicest and most helpful guy I have ever met. While I was there, the situation in the country was chaotic and he helped all of the guests to find solutions day to day to be safe and continue travelling. The rest of the staff is also super nice and the hostel per se is so chill, with a great social area where you can meet people easily. They also help you book all the activities around San Gil and give you really helpful advice. Amazing!
