And don’t forget architecture, with art nouveau treats like Victor Horta. Shopaholics do the Nieuwstraat or the Louizalaan. Or would you prefer bric-a-brac? This hostel is part of the Flemish Youth Hostels Association , which is a membership organization. As from January 1st 2014 onvwards, the prices quoted include a 1-day membership fee. Discounts are not available for members of VJH (Belgium) or Hostelling International as part of this booking

Totally alright hostel, very lacking in atmosphere, I wouldnâ€™t recommend if youâ€™re solo travelling. Everything was clean. The girl on the reception was very friendly and helpful. I think it was just bad luck, but the night I stayed there was a group of young girls staying with there parents and they were running around all the dorms, playing loud music and slamming the doors through the night which was quite annoying.

The â€œensuiteâ€ in the room is just a shower, no toilet. Sensor light in the shower would turn off while you were showering and you couldnâ€™t turn it back on without getting out of the shower in the pitch black. Shower didnâ€™t have a normal tap and you had you push a button every 10 seconds to keep the water flowing. One of the evening staff members was quite unfriendly looked very annoyed anytime you asked her something. Location felt unsafe at night.

This is not a youth hostel, at least from what I have encountered during my stay there. It is a nice place if you are looking for a relaxed stay but you are thinking of socialising and meeting (young) people, this is not a place for you.
