Citadel Youth hostel welcomes you to your second home.

We are located in the center of the old city between the Armanian and the Jewish quarter. We are housed in a 700 year old building full of character, charm and history. Our 24 hours front desk always welcomes our guests with a kind and warming smile. The hostel provides many free amenities including free Wi-Fi, shared kitchen. We have, without a doubt, one of the best rooftop views of the old city of Jerusalem. You can enjoy sleeping up there of course we provide a mattress and a blanket or simply enjoy the sunset .

The Citadel Youth Hostel is a 2 minute walking distance from Jaffa Gate and a 10 minute walk to the city center, we are within walking distance from public transportation, tourist information center, restaurants, coffee shops and the vibrant night life in Jerusalem.

Cancellation policy: 72h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

hands-down, best spot in Jerusalem. One the highest rooftops in the old city. I watched the sunset every night, to the sound of prayer, in the worlds most holy city for a week. The owner is flexible, professional, and very authentic. bathrooms are a little small, however, if I ever come back, this is the only place I will stay. I forget the owners name, but thank you, along with your staff, for making my experience wonderful and one of the best weeks of my life.

When I arrived in the evening to start my stay at New Citadel Hostel, I was told that they had no details of my booking, even though I presented a print-out of my the website booking confirmation. Furthermore, they were now booked out and could not accommodate me at all. So I had to go looking for alternatives myself. Luckily, I found the New Swedish Hostel nearby, which turned out to be cheaper and, although with only basic facilities, was clean and quiet. So New Citadel's fault was my gain.

the good. The rooftop view, magnificent. Never got tired of it. The inside of the Citadel was intriguing. The hostel was fairly easy to find. There was front door security. The bad. No doors on the toilet entrance, and it stunk. I slept on the roof with a taped-up tent. I asked for plastic to cover screened top , never got. It started raining after a week and I looked for another place. I returned for my things and tent was packed up even though I had paid in full. No credit card, only cash
