Arcadia Downtown Backpackers

I’m usually not to fussy about hostels, and this was okay, I stayed the two nights I had booked. My main issues were, there was one key for the room (between 6), no personal lockers except for a comunal wardrobe which had two keys (between 6) and the floor was covered in bits and was in dire need of a hoover. Staff weren’t that friendly and atmosphere was odd, like you weren’t supposed to be there? But I met some nice people in the room. But it was cheap and a good location.

Staff was sweet but the hostel itself was really not clean (clumps of hair everywhere, bedsheets were probably clean but again, had strands of hair from other people on them), no lockers were available and room doors had no locks, which didn’t make it feel like too safe if you’re traveling with cash or valuables. However the staff was really sweet at providing a key to a cabinet where I could leave my stuff. Overall very cheap but would probably spend more to stay at a cleaner place

Great hostel right by the river. It is not at all social so don’t stay here if you want to meet people - I just wanted a place to chill with a cheap private room and it filled this purpose perfectly. Staff were lovely and organised a bus for me from Kampot to Phnom Penh
