I had a fantastic stay at Why not hostel in Unawatuna. The staff and volunteers really made the stay special. There was always a family dinner and some social activity organised each night which was really fun and helped everyone staying there bond. I met some great people who I met up with again along my travels in other parts of Sri Lanka. Super fun hostel couldn’t recommend it enough if you want to socialise and meet great people!

Such an amazing Hostel. I was supposed to stay for two nights but extended to just over a week. Using it as a base for day trips to the southern towns (Harabaduwa, Galle, Unawatuna, ahangama, Weligama and Marissa). Really social and friendly volunteers too (particular shout out to Eve and Claudia). Had a really fun stay! 😊

I stayed for a few nights then extended because I had so much fun The staff are so friendly and helpful. They have great recommendations and suggestions of where to go and see including transport At night they arranged fun games nights and always kept in communication with all the guests Massive garden to relax in and pool. Would highly recommend and will be returning for sure!
