The staff were pretty rude and weren't knowledgeable about local tours. They have incredibly high fees for everything - wifi for $15/day (no hourly option), towels for $10 (buy only, no daily hires), $5 to lock up a bag for the day. Unacceptable for a YHA. The facilities deserve a much better rating than what I've seen. A big cupboard by each bed to lock your stuff was a plus (bring your own lock). However, VERY noisy, couldn't sleep a wink. Right in the center of town amongst all the bars. LOUD! However, I stayed during schoolies week, so the noise level might be better at any other time. But if you prefer really quite, relaxed atmosphere, consider staying further from town. The facilities deserve a much better rating than what I've seen.
