stayed at the 17 bed dorm, which was surprisingly good - really large room, no bunk beds; staff was really nice and very helpful; you need to pay a deposit for your crockery, which has the advantage that nobody leaves their stuff in the kitchen; the problem is that the stoves in the kitchen are not really good working (it took ages to cook); kitchen is not very clean (tables, floor), free wifi was really good

Very basis hostel, with no common areas. Dorms were ok. Bed actually quite comfortable. But no character at all. However very close to the Greyhound. If you are just stopping over wating for a boat its the perfect place, but not good for any longer than a night.

Enjoyed our 2 nights here. 17 bed dorm really nice and clean, situated in the loft, no bunk beds but still plenty of room. Free wifi in certain areas. Thought $20 deposit for plate sets was a bit much and you have to pay deposits for saucepans too which is a bit excessive. Great location. Lovelt balconies to eat your meals on. Great find!!

The hostel needs to get renovated, new paint and new curtains. The staff is friendly and the rooms are not dirty. But it has no atmosphere. It feels like you stay in a abandoned mall. For a bit more money you can have a way better hostel in Airlie Beach. I also stayed at the Nomads in Airlie Beach and would recommend to go there.

Location is great- opposite beach, close to lagoon, shops and cafes. Stayed in an 8 bed dorm which was ok, had a balcony area which was good and was clean. Staff were very helpful and booked Whitsunday trip for me and had good advise. The thing that lets this hostel down is the lack of social areas and the kitchen was very dirty.

I spent one night at Airlie Waterfront Backpackers in a 6 bed mixed room. The position is great, 5 minutes walk from the bus station, lagoon and main road. If you book a 2 days tour you get one night accomodation for free. Free WiFi works well, but not in the room. Blanket had some stains and bathrooms are really small. The kitchen was the worst equipped I've seen so far in Australia, before cooking check you've everything you need. Free baggage storage for daily trip.

For those who are confused, you don't get a view of the waterfront from any rooms! Some rooms are close to the pub out back so you may get some noise. However the location is perfect, far away enough from the main strip so it's quiet but still accessible to everything. The 4 bed dorm is quite cramped - not enough room to store 4 persons luggage, but there is air con and the bathroom ensuite was clean. The staff are extremely helpful and nice. Recommended!

TIt is impossible to cook in the kitchen. It is dirty and very small and the tap actually came off when we were running water. There is no common area for people to socialise except for a very small balcony area. There is a tv in the kitchen but it is too hot to sit in there, nevermind cook. The rooms are average. Some of the staff were unfriendly and rude.

Great location, just in front of the beach and minutes walking to the swimming lagoon. I stayed in the 17-people dorm and was a bit afraid of such a big room but it's arranged in such a way that you don't feel like you're sharing a room with so many people so it's ok. Nice terrace too. There were just not enough showers/toilets for such a big room.

Not really a hostel - more like rooms attached to the back of a food court. Rooms were clean though and key card security was good. Staff were helpful and let me store valuables at reception. Not a place to go as a lone traveller though

Nicest and the most cleanest hostel I've ever been. Big comfy beds, own aircon with remote control unit in 4 person dorms or smaller rooms and staff was helpfull in every matter. Location is perfect! I could not find anything bad to say about this place! They got even free wifi which is not mentioned in hostelworld website. Everything was in good order and good shape.
