The hostel is not just a quick bus ride to the center of Venice and the bus is not free. If your there for the weekend then you will mostly have to buy a bus and boat pass for at least 40 euro because if you want to get to any of the popular destinations on the island of Venice (San Marco Square) then you will have to take a boat and a bus.
