Already gave it a glowing review on Tripadviser. Really enjoyed our stay - staff were friendly and very helpful with advice, facilities, while basic, were clean and more than adequate. Breakfast a bit disappointing and coffee undrinkable but for the price, I am surprised it was provided at all. Lovely atmosphere, comfortable beds and, very thoughtfully, provided with earplugs. Great place.

The living room need to be cleaned, somedays it was a total mess and flies were all over the place. Also the instruction about how to arrive from the airport to the hostal are WRONG! Right now it says: "The best way to get here is by Metro. Take the Blue or Yellow line to 'Baixa-Chiado' station. (Where the Green & Blue Line meet)" From the airport you need to take frist the RED line until it intersects with the blue one. from there transfer to the blue one and go to baixa-chiado!!!

I really liked this hostel, location was great and staff were pretty helpful, when they were there. Reception was often left unmanned, which didn't bother me too much, but I think it bothered others. Staff are just really chilled out, which wasn't a bad thing, but this probably isn't a place for the high-maintenance traveler. I liked the free breakfast and they offer a free walking tour too, which was excellent. Rooms, bathroom and kitchen were clean. So I was very happy with this place.

The loud live rock music coming from the pubs below wasn't annoying at all, everybody was very friendly and helpful. It was also a very quiet period: not many guests. Big romance for this heart-of-the-city hostel one step away from all the major attractions!

There were 6 of us and we stayed at Alface Bairro Alto Hostel for New Years Eve, I just can say it was great. The atmosphere at the common area was amazing, everybody sharing their food and drinks and talking to each other, like a huge party! The morinng after, they were very flexible with the check out and breakfast time, the staff couldn't be kinder. Everything was clean and the location in the middle of the Bairro Alto is just perfect. =D

Thank you very much !!! The hotel is situated in a great district of Lisbon, and it is exactly what everybody needs when travelling : a clean place to stay, stressless, and a staff available to take care of its customers and to discuss/exchange with.
