Great hostel. The ladies working the front desk are super nice, all of them. The prices are bery reasonable and the place clean. I tend to stay in hotels, but the atmosphere is never te same, in the case of this hostel the atmosphere is great. My only remark is about the area: its not very accesible for handicapp people, and a fellow guest had a lot of trouble getiing around. Its not the hostels problems, its the citys problem. But it is important to point it out. Thanks

Overall I enjoyed my stay and the people I met. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is trying out the hostel experience for their first time. They have big lockers for backpackers and suitcase storage by the lobby so bring a lock. The breakfast there only provides beverages, cereal and bread so if you plan to stay for more than one night I recommend checking out the supermarket directly across the street and using the kitchen facilities in the hostel. They could use some more artwork...

Great hostel in good location, only let down by staff. This was our first stop in Argentina and we really could have done with some advise from staff regarding getting around, where to stay etc, but not only were they unable to help they were also unwilling, which was a real shame as other than that the hostel was great. Breakfast was one of the best out of all the hostels we stayed in. Did hear some guests complain about noise from late night guitar playing in courtyard out the back though...

A good option in San Telmo. The breakfast isnt great (too much sweet stuff) but the place in general makes up for this.

Great hostel. Very helpful, clean and safe. Location is great for cultural activities but not for the main tourist attractions/areas.

The hostel has a good atmosphere and nice staff. But It's very noisy because of the height of the building and lack of interior decoration like textiles on the walls and carpets. Though this is common minimalistic design it does make the hostel very noisy. From the room upstairs you hear people talking at the reception and ground floor, as well as the music that is turned on 24-7. Also internet doesn't work in the dorms as said on Hostelworld.com. Too big a building or possible to arrange?

America del Sur is supposed to be one of the best hostels in BA. I wouldn't agree with that, there are definitely choices with a better and cosier atmosphere. It feels a bit like a bunker and "mass processing". Concerning the staff my rating really depends on the person you`re talking to: some are very nice and knowledgeable, some are not. Also, they were very unclear about the prices, they changed everyday and at the end we had very high bill!

Firstly the staff here are excellent. The location is 400m from La Defencia which is a street that includes lovely architechure, markets, coffee and food. The post office is 800m and supermarket across the road. The domestic airport is $15 US Dollars away. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Clean, well maintained. Huge common area with outdoor courtyard. The shower was hot with good pressure. The only drawback was lack of fitted sheets which meant they would come off easily. Great!
