Good hostel which I would highly recommend. Good room size with A/C and large lockers, though our room was starting to show some signs of ware.

This hostel is REALLY big! It has a very commercial feel to it and the staff will generally make you feel more like a customer they can make money from rather than a guest. The hostel had no running water for 24 hours and we were told this is a frequent occurrence yet they didn't give us any prior warning. The wifi is temperamental as is the internet on the computers downstairs. But there is one staff member who was great and helped us in anyway she could when the lock on our door broke.

It's one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in and it's almost always full.

I would definitely recommend this hostel. The breakfast is as basic (bad) as anywhere in BA and UY, but there is a cute breakfast place (la poesia) close by. The beds are very comfortable, the overall noise level is low. Subway station is 3 blocks away.

Excellent staff and facilities. Great spot to meet with other travellers. Loved the late night guitar sessions!

Very good city centre location. Showers, wifi, activities, kitchen, beds - all top notch. Quite a large hostel so could sometimes lack a bit of atmosphere....but we hooked up with an awesome group and drunk all the beer, so that's maybe a bit unfair. Oh, and there was a guitar which made the OH super happy :)

Very clean, great location in San Telmo close to everything with a supermarket across the road. good breakfast by south america standards. Although it felt almost like a hotel, was kind of hard to meet people as a solo traveller

I found this hostel to be of good quality being clean and with good facilities and in a convenient location in Buenos Aires. The hostel was very busy at the time I was there which shows how popular it was with backpackers.

Great hostel, great staff . Wifi can be extremely slow during busy periods and shower in the dorm was not working properly but they had showers in the basement too which worked well.

America del Sur is your fully-quipped hostel. They send you a "welcome e-mail" after you book to offer help with trip and event planning. When you get there, the front desk people greet you by shaking your hand. Rooms are cleaned every day and are modern and new. There is plenty of space to spread out downstairs. It is also very close to the Sunday San Telmo market. Also, if you are staying here check out Cafe San Juan...one of the best restaurants we ate at in Argentina.

This really is an exceptional hostel. I've never stayed anywhere with such friendly staff, who go above and beyond to help you with anything. Nothing is too much to ask them! They are a real credit to the place. The hostel is in an excellent location, with good facilities and a great atmosphere.
