The room was good, the staff was nice and the location was great, not far from the train station (if you know the way...) and the "Plaza Santa Margaritha" is nice and not too touristy. Nice bars and restaurants and not too pricy (off-season). All in all a good choice!

I think that with some cleaning, the place would be super nice. There was hair (that was not mine) everywhere and it made me so uncomfortable. Even the sheets had hair. It was gross.

Good place to stay for budget travelers in Venice - among the cheapest, great location right next to all the bars, easy going manager. No kitchen but that's not the end of the world. Even get gumboots to wear if it's raining! Recommended

Nice, very cheap for Venice standards, GREAT location. BUT. We had call and wait for someone to come and check us in (at 10am). We had to pay extra for linens; Blankets were *dirty*. Whoever cleaned our room (and took the bed covers!) left the door open. Only after several complaints and a night of freezing in our beds did they deign to turn on the heating for good (it was about 2ºC outside).

I had a really great experience on my stay at Antico Capon. The owner was very friendly, and my friend and I were fortunate enough to stay in our own room. The space was clean, and all of the facilities worked well. The location was in the middle of a square, giving visitors the chance to have access to local market and bars, while also being in close walking distance to major attraction areas.

its a small hostel but the location is very nice.... staff is good... owner is very helpful and friendly.... its just beside the supermarket and 10mins walk from central station...... but not all facilities are there.... they don't have kitchen, computers for guest and common room.. Apart from this its good value for money.... toilet and shower are inside the room.... the hostel is clean and everything works perfect.

We arrived at the time stated in our booking process and no one was there to meet us like promised. We waited 30 minutes for the staff to get there and when we got there they did not let us check in. They were incredibly unhelpful with all issues. They told us to return at 15:00 for proper checkin. When we arrived back at the hotel at 14:57 a teenage boy staff member told us we were still too early and had to come back. EXPENSIVE, NOT WORTH IT! HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE FACILITIES, WORST HOTEL!

I was there 5 days with my boyfriend. We loved the location, the price was good for the carnaval period in Venice, and the staff was nice. The bedroom was small but perfect for what we needed, and the private bathroom was excellent. We weren't cold nor unhappy about the atmosphere. Yes, it isn't a hostel with a lot of talking, but the staff is nice. If we go back to Venice we will stay there!

It was a bit difficult to find, just as the sign outside the door is ridiculously tiny. Otherwise everything was fine.

Its location is perfect but it's so cold at night. If you choose this hostel, remembering to ask "where is Campo santa margherita" instead of the hostel address when first finding it.

The only good thing is that its a cheap place in Venice (what is very difficult) and it's quite well located. But the hostel is dirty (I found some strange things in my sheets), there is no map, the staff is not helpful with places to eat and go and there is no place to stay and meet people. It is really just a place to sleep and have a shower!

Great Hostel, good location, friendly staff. No lockers for belongings, nervous about leaving for the day with my laptop in the room. All was ok but still could be better security.

LIked: free lockers, lobby for hangout, warm Disliked: Wifi was very spotty in room and you have to constantly log in with credentials that are given to you on a paper from downstairs reception. So basically you constantly have to go down and get new slips of codes because they expire. Regarding showers you constantly had to push the valve to keep the water going every 30 seconds.. and at every 2 minutes the motion activated lights would turn off and you had to go out and wave your arm.

A good hostel located in the center of the city, pretty close to everything and makes the experence in Venice itself incredible. The place certainly lacks character since it seems more like a cheap hotel rather than a really hostel. No common area, no kitchen, just you and your room. My girlfriend also said the the room was stinking altough for me it was fine. But still summing up in a few words: Cheap and ok for a place in the center of Venice.

It is not a very social hostle and it was incredible cold inside. However, the bathroom facilities were great and the rooms clean and comfortable. The staff was not available 24/7, but was very helpful.
