This place is pretty cool! The staff is awsome, really helpfull and soooo hilarious! The emplacement is great, in the old city, close to the main attractions! But 16 persons by room is a lot.

Great hostel! Friendly, helpful staff, modern, eco-friendly and very good location-wise. This should be your go-to hostel if you want to stay in Philadelphia. It's just a few minutes walk from most of the major historical attractions, restaurants/cafes/bars, and retail stores.

Everyghing is good. Except There are more than 30 beds In one room. And the stairs are So tiny. There is no elevator either. It feels not good when you walk to /from your room.

A very colorful hostel that matches the atmosfere. The staff is great and very friendly. The rooms are clean and they are very well secured with security numbers that change daily. All the historic sites that Philadelphia have to offer are just around the corner. The hostel has daily activities which are very great.

Loved this place, would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Philly. The location and great facilities would be enough to recommend this place but the amazing staff and the awesome events just made for a perfect trip. The dorm rooms were a bit intense at the start but its all good. The location is perfect for all the old city attractions as well as South St/Italian Market and there are so many great restaurants, shops and bars in the area. If you're going to Philly you must stay here.

awesome hostel! even though you share a room with almost 30 others I slept very well. everyone is very considerate! also the hostels activites are great, it's really comfortable to hang out in the lobby and it's a place where you easily meet people. I highly recommend that hostel!

Despite being a seriously expensive hostel, these guys are in a good location, are extremely friendly and helpful, and put on some great events to meet people (i.e. unlimited alcohol). Tim is great fun, and took us around to a few local bars one night for one of the events.

Convenient location for the city centre (~15 minute walk) and all the historic sites too. Clean dormitory and bathroom areas. Staff were really friendly and very helpful with their knowledge of the local area. The steep staircase was a bit awkward with luggage, but that's down to the character of the building! Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, thank you!

Very helpful and kind staff. Dorms very good. You don't even notice you're sleeping with 15 other people in one room.

I didnt like that the price they show here on hostelworld is for HI members (Hostel International). For non-HI members, you will be charged extra $3 on top. I've stayed in dozens other hostels mostly in Latin America and some in Europe and never encountered such. Price shown on hostelworld is assumed non-member or without any sort of privilege/discount, those who are member gets discount below price shown here... felt a bit deceiving... maybe just me(?) other than that, was all good.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hi Kosuke, I'm very sorry that you were surprised by the membership fee. It is explained when you make your reservation and in our confirmation email. We are part of Hostelling International, which is a membership-based association of hostels. The membership is the same all over the world. Most guests opt to buy a yearly membership if they don't already have one. It only costs $28 and with it you get a 2-nights for the price of one coupon that you can use in either New York, Boston, Washington, Chicago and other great cities. You would actually make money by buying a membership if you stayed 2 nights in one of those cities plus not have to pay the daily membership fee. it also comes with free travel insurance. I hope that helps!
