It's a nice place, it's close to the tourism monuments and the pubs and restaurants. Everything is clean and the staff are sympathic however i found it's quite expensive to pay 40$night for a bed in a 16 beds dorms.

Great hostel, very good location and great staff, probably the best I've ever visited.. Very clean, very attentive staff, activities scheduled every night, and what else can be said of the location, right in the heart of the old city!!! The only two downsides: Wi-Fi is free but the use of the computers are not. And I'm still wondering how the balance I had to pay according to my Hostel World receipt got a $16.57 increase once I got there...

They don't wash the blankets that they have on the beds - gross. However, my biggest problem was with the rudeness of the staff. When I arrived by car I called to ask for help locating the parking garage THEY recommend on their site because I was having trouble. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful to both of my phone calls. She wouldn't even look up the address even though she had a computer right in front of her. The next day another receptionist was rude to my friend. Will not stay again.

Great location in the historic part of town. Free pasta dinner on Wednesday. Clean kitchen and wash areas. Definately worth a stay. Lacks individual character as a chain hostel but the area and attention to detail definately make up for this. Plenty of bars in the area.

Great hostel, but 24 beds in the male dorm is a lot, especially if you assume 1/4 of them are snoring.

Stayed only 1 night in this hostel, travelled as solo female traveller and stayed in 16 bed female dorm. Pros: Very good location, helpful friendly staff, communal area, lockers available in rooms Cons: No breakfast, coffee and tea facilities don't include milk Recommend it overall, though not more then 1 day is required in Philadelphia

I think this hostel was very good. But, it didn't provide patrons with breakfast. It was very inconvenient. Except for it, I like this hostel.

Too expensive, but the only reasonably located hostel in Philly.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. The staff was nice and helpful from the very first moment, they had many tips of what to do that you usually don't look up on the internet. The location is awesome (5 min walk from Liberty Bell and Congress Hall). We had a great time watching movies and playing Wii all night, so if you don't feel like going out after an exhausting day in Philly you still have the opportunity to do something else than going to bed ;-)

Maybe it was daily interactions with unhappy people. Both staffers I met were sullen or indifferent. I was just another body. That's ok, I just needed a bed and a secure place to sleep, and it was that.

Great location and staff. Very clean bathrooms, showers and kitchen area. They have lockers for belongings, so don't forget to bring a lock of some sort. Overall value for money.

Apple was one of few hostels in Philly but it worked out quite nicely. The location in Old City was really nice but the hostel itself was on a side street down an alley which is less than pleasant to walk down alone at night. But it wasn't that bad, the area itself is pretty safe. Staff was friendly, facilities were standard and clean, nothing to complain about here.
