The little getaway was picturesque, the host gracious and talkative which was perfect for me as I was curious as to how they came to acquire this wonderfully secluded place. They even grow most of their own veggies there. My only issue was that he didn\'t have any wine, but I was offered a local beer. If you have an interest in wine, bring your own...you\'ll have a pleasant, relaxing time.

Interestingly hippie-esque spot; bit hard to find at the end of a shabby-looking road in Itiquis. Driving up to it, it didn't look like it'd be much, but then suddenly you drive down to a wonderful spot of nature, a veritable delight for the senses with a river and half a jungle on the premises. Simple rooms, clean, some of them massive. Awesome chef on the premises, by the way!

Slighty Bohemian type place with huge rooms although basicaly furnished. We stayed in shared bathroom although we had the place to ourselves. These were good value at $40 to include cooked breakfast and coffee.Evening meal for $13 was main course/dessert cooked by trained chef.He cooked what you requested. The views were spectacular overlooking large garden and stream. The downside is that the property is 4K out of town although the bus stop to Volcan Poas is 10 min walk away. There is no kitchen .

The location is the only major downside to this place. It is a LITTLE off the beaten Path. Never the less, the staff are extremely helpful in getting you to where you want to go. From the San Jose Airport, it is a$10 cab ride. This is a great spot to start or end your trip to Costa Rica. What really makes this place great is the staff. They are friendly, helpful, and make you feel extremely welcome. Most of the people i met there were return guests and i hope to go back there as well.
