As a single traveller, this is great value for money, I was given a double room although I booked a single. The staff is very friendly and full of great suggestions. The room is very clean and functional. I would go back again.

A very value for money hostel in Asakusa area. Quite near to the subway station and sensoji temple. Near to the hostel, there are some ramen restaurants with english menu and open until midnight. There is also street shopping area next to the ramen restaurant. In the room, you can use the towel and yukata. You can also make hot green tea drink, the tea powder and hot water is available. Unfortunately, no social room for backpacker guests. In general, I enjoy staying in toukaisou.

I stayed there for a few weeks with my friend and we had the cheapest twin room with bunk beds. It was super small and there was mould in the bathroom but it was what you could expect with the price we paid. The location was good, short walk to subway station and only ~2km to JR Ueno station so you can walk there too. The staff was really nice & friendly.

A very good alternative to all the hostels. More comfortability and more privacy for a very reasonable price considering this is Tokyo.

I stayed for a couple of nights at this Ryokan with a friend, and we had a great time. If I return to Tokyo I'll probably book here again. The staff was really nice and could speak English, and the facilities were appropriate for the price paid.

Very friendly staff, great value and in an excellent location. Only problem was a bit cold at night, but staff were able to provide an extra blanket. Would definitely stay there again

Double bedroom, good bed, private bathroom, wifi, hair dryer, towel, robes and tea. Staff were very helpful and spoke English. Very close to a subway stop, shops, restaurants and a temple. We were provided with a map of the neighborhood and a detailed information sheet on how to get to some of the major sites in Tokyo. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Correct private room for 1 person at the 1floor, rate/price is really good for value. Futon bed, private bathroom, wifi, air dryer, towel and tea set are included in the price. Staff is so nice and helpfull and two of them speak a perfect english. Location is good too : subway 5 minutes walking, temple so close, many restaurants and shops around, located in a small quiet street but 2min walk from a big one.I recommand this hotel, any hesitation to book ! Thank you so much for this experience.

We were quite happy staying here, all things were as expected except location and staff which is beyond my expectation. When they say it's 5 mins walk , it's really 5 mins walk to station. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I like the fact that (don't miss this if you have free time) we can rent bicycles for the whole day for only 200yen. It's located just by the main road facing the supermarket. We went all the way to Asakusa, Sumida River, Ueno Park even. It was great fun going.
