This place is a great value! I stayed in a hostel a few blocks away for the same price, but got a private room here, so worth it. After a week of hostels it was nice to get a place to myself. The set up of the room was really nice and I enjoyed the kettle and tea provided. I would stay here again when in Tokyo.
Nice little place in Asakusa with great directions to find it. Twin rooms are futons and have ensuites, very cosy.
Twin room is very small, but you have private bathroom. Good place to sleep well after long day sightseeing Tokyo. I haven't look for it long but there is probably no common space to read book or eat something.
First the big plus: location! Just perfect right in Asakusa, you have a lot to do and see just around the Ryokan. It was also clean, like everywhere in Japan. But we did not enjoy the room with nearly no daylight. We felt like sleeping in the cellar. The whole room and its facilities were also quite worn out - this place definitely needs renovation. The sink was a joke - way to small to do anything with it. We brushed our teeth in the shower (which was quite spacious, a small plus).
( ) Before staying I had some questions and requests. All were answered quickly and very accommodatively. ( ) Receptionist only open from 8am to 11pm, but when we need to arrive late, a staff was waiting for us. And they are very helpful to bring our bags up and down when we stayed on 3rd floor. (-) The computer is turned off on 11pm, since the receptionist closed to go home. (-) in the ryokan, no complaints. In the hostel it's better to also provide basic bath facility
