I booked a double room for 4 days at Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou in my first trip to Tokyo. What I can say about the hostel is that it's really good. The location is right in the center of Asakusa, very close to Sensoji temple. It's also well reached by metro and train (just 10 mins walking from the metro). The staff is friendly and helpful though their English is not so excellent but enough for communication. The room is very clean and well organized. I highly recommend it.

The staff were incredibly kind, and the place was good, for what we paid for it. The room was small, but served its purpose. The staff speak great English, which isa definite plus.

Good service and friendly staff. Location is a bit far from JR stations, but is close to the Tsukuba Express line.

At the end of our trip, we stayed at Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou in Tokyo and decided to upgrade to the double private ensuite. The space was nice and the people at the front desk were extremely helpful. Also, there is a really nice 24-hr Sushi Ichiban around the corner, which was nice for the all-day tourist. The price was a little bit high, but still worth it. I would definitely stay there again.

I'd like to thank the staff (Show,Grace and the big fella) for all their help, without which i'm sure i would of wasted a lot of time getting around Tokyo. The hostel is very quiet and very safe. Its location was perfect and is only minutes away from the subways. The room was much bigger than i was expecting and had everything i needed. I would recommend this hostel, not just because of all things i've mentioned but also because it was great value for money.

I really liked this hostel/ryokan. The room (single room) was quite small, and the window faced a wall outside, which was not pleasant, but besides that I ofund the room confortable, with everthying I needed and the staff were very helpful. It is located in the older part of Tokyo, next to some nice visiting spots and quite close to the subway station.

Great mellow Ryokan in Asakusa. Staff was super-friendly and helpful. Wifi, neighborhood, hot water, and cleanliness were all top-notch as well. Since it's a Ryokan you're not going to get the normal hostel fratrenizing so just keep that in mind.

A very quirky little place. Was a little shocked when I first arrived. It felt more like I had stepped into my grandmother's weird, carpeted basement than arriving at a hotel. It definitely feels very old, and the rooms are tiny (have stayed in the room w/ twin bunkbeds and the twin futons), but the staff is great, it's tidy, and both times I've stayed, it was the only place I could find with a private bathroom. You'll be happy, just don't expect a palace. I'll stay there again. Thanks!

A very nice and clean hostel, small but functional rooms, quiet area, but thin walls between the rooms. Super friendly staff that speaks excellent English and give great recommendations for local restaurants. Good location, plenty of places to eat in the neighbourhood and close to main sightseeing points in the area and Ginza line to go elsewhere.
