We were disappointed with the unusual treatment of left luggage at check out. We asked to leave our bags, which is normal practice for all other hostels in my experience but were told that they could only be held until 5 pm that day and there would be a charge that was more expensive than at the bus station which is where we ended up leaving them. It was a shame to have this as our parting impression

Loved this hostel. Kitchen was excellent. I was able to cook a full meal there which was great, and saved me some money. Everyone hangs out in the kitchen at night time. I met someone nice to talk to each evening, and actually on the last night I met another guy from Canada who actually drove me to Palenque the next day to see the ruins! Talk about luck and timing! Was very quiet, clean, and the breakfast was great. Host even sells bus tickets! No wifi in rooms is a downer.

I don't ipunderstand whats so hard hard in buyibgva proper showen curtain, what...curtains in THE room to. Metal on metal is so noisy and THE cleaningness of THE bathroom, welll, leaves improvement. Front Door to hotel is always locked..leaving THE owners with suspecious looks and questions.....yes?... Wel, i am a guest....oh, come in. Furthermore breakfast is ok and ticketservice in THE bus of tours too. Not recommendable, sorry

I think that Le Gite del Sol isavery good hostel for travellers. The price is perfect, the brakfast excellent and the staff really friendly and caring. There were two things which were a bit annoying.... First the wifi didn't work in our room (21) whereas it seemed that in other rooms it worked. Second the shower was not as strong as I would have wished because of the cold temperatures outside. It was hot but sometimes only drops came out.
