The staff is very conscientious about keeping everything very clean and in a good state of repair. They are cleaning every single day, and are generous about providing frequent clean towels and blankets. Breakfast is good and varied. The staff is friendly and helpful, without being obtrusive or troublesome. This is not a party hostel, it’s a clean, simple and basic place to spend a few nights. By the time we leave we will have stayed for over 4 weeks. It has exceeded my expectation.

Not a party hostel, so if you want a quiet place to stay while exploring San Cristobal this is a lovely spot. I was able to have a single room (shared bathroom) for a very reasonable price. The room was basic but clean with good WIFI access and a nice comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and the breakfast, excellent. Great value for money, I will certainly be staying there again.

The breakfast was great, and so was the price (as long as it's 2 people). The location is good but a bit further away than other options. The bus booking was appreciated, the loud talking outside of the room between 8-9am was not. Perhaps it was important for the owners to discuss painting the place, but I didn't appreciate the early morning conversation right outside my door. The beds were not particularly comfortable, the shower was nice and hot. Would have liked the kitchen to be open past 9

Clean, quiet rooms at a reasonable price.

The owner was nice and helpful, and the breakfast was great; however the hostel itself wasn't the greatest. There are actually two buildings, the building you check in at seems like the nicer of the two; however we stayed at the other. The building is all concrete and therefore very wet and with the smell of mold. It is not dirty, but it could have been a lot cleaner. There are things that could be done to make this place feel more inviting; the atmosphere makes it feel cold and uncomfortable.

THE GOOD: Great choice of hot and cold breakfasts / Licenced to sell bus tickets from the hostel which is very convenient / Owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. THE AVERAGE: Location is close to main strip but a fair distance from main plaza and the mercado / Rooms are basic concrete rooms but they are clean. THE BAD: Common rooms including kitchen are closed from 9PM / Internet is extraordinarily slow / Kitchen is very basic and unclean. TLDR: Ok for the money but there are other options.

The worst hostel I've ever stayed in. Staff is so so, but the facilities are just horrendous! We got placed in "Le Gite 2" in front of the "main" hostel. The room was hideous (I´m not picky at all, it was hideous by any standard), with plants growing from the metal ceiling into the room! There are a zillion hostels in San Cristobal. Most of them are better located than this. It's a few blocks away from downtown, but most other hostels are in the middle of things. Would never, ever come back.

Extremely friendly staff and owners. Spartan, but an excellent value for the money.
