Easily the best hostel i've stayed at. Real cool staff, fluent in English and very helpful. The place is extremely clean. The little bar next door rocks - good selection of drinks and small snacks, perfect to chill out and meet new people after a long day exploring.

My husband and I were generally happy with the hostel except for the unpredictable hot-cold shower water when showering and on the last day we were there, there was no hot water coming out of the shower. As the result, I could not get out of the bathroom for a while and waited for the hot showers to come on but it did not. So I had to use the cold showers to remove the soap and without expecting it, I had a mild cold and cough after that.

A bit far away from Kyoto station. But this hostel is very clean. Beds are a little bit crude though I want to come back again!

What can we say, had a fabulous time. We stayed for 5 nights and loved having a base for our exploration of Kyoto. The room was spotless, the doona soft and luxurious the bathroom better than a hotel. The staff bent over backwards to help and they were so polite. Internet and books available to help you out. After a big day of touring we loved relaxing at Zens bar for a couple of drinks. Thank you to all staff for a great experience of Japan.

One of the best hostels have ever stayed in. you must hire a bike as its the best easiest and fun way to get around to all the Temples. good location, bar is great, and only a 8 minute walk from station. 110% from us.
