Staff was friendly. Modernized things. There's nothing that can be done about this, but we stayed in a 4 person bunkbed room and ththe AC is directly above one of the beds and an idiot kept turning it off because he was cold. He thought that although 3 other people could not sleep because it was too hot in the middle of summer, intead of covering his body he would sleep naked and turn off the AC. Other thn that which is not about ththe hostel it was great.

Great atmosphere, very clean and well organized, and the bike rental is a great and cheap addition! The location seems a little out of the way at first, but buses in Kyoto are easy to use and will make access to and from this location super easy (or rent a bike!). The staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions with a wealth of knowledge and good perspective on a backpacker's wants and needs. Bring a lock and key to keep your things locked up in dorm rooms, though~~ I'd go back!

Great location, very helpful staff. However, the fact that there are so many common rooms means that everyone is very spread out and the place lacks atmosphere. Possibly too big for its own good.

Awesome place, really clean, modern, great location right near kyoto station. Staff were really helpful helping me book a hostel in osaka when my flight was delayed. There are families and couples and people just wanting a bed so i would not recommend it for atmosphere or meeting people. Really good stay, cheers!

I always visit K's house when I go to Kyoto. They are good at English so, it really helped.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, room itself did the job and showers etc were very clean. The roof top terrace and lounge were both great to hang out in too.

It was nice but it is such a large hostel and it has become quite commercialized compared to what it used to be known for. The K's House in Hiroshima was way friendlier and less commercialized. It would have been nice if K's House Kyoto would have had the same friendly, intimate atmosphere. Too bad.

Maybe one floor for women, one for men? Mixed is difficult sometimes... And the dryer in the bekkan should be changed! The rest was all okay, well organized!

The place was clean, practical, and close to the central station. Staff was helpful. But go there only if you want to feel like you didn't leave home (that is, if you come from Europe or the US): contrary to other hostels in Japan, I only met Americans, Germans, French, Spanish... people and most of them kept to themselves. The second negative aspect is the overall aspect of the hostel : it is big and it definitely lacks character (except maybe the common room).

K's was a great place to stay. I stayed in a 4 person dorm and my roommates were great. There were cabinets under the bunks to store your stuff during the day and to enter your room you needed your room key. There was a livingroom area to hang out in and kitchen for cooking. Everyone was respectful and cleaned up after cooking. The entire hostel was clean, bathrooms, living areas, office.

We stayed in a private room: it was clean, comfortable, with a beautiful view over the mountains and Kiyomizudera temple. It rained a lot one of the days we spent there and some umbrellas were available to guests: very practical. The hostel is pretty much close to Kyoto Station, but it if you have heavy luggage and the weather is hot, you'd better take a bus or a cab to get there.

The hostal is really good, I would just tell the staff to be nicer ( the staff from the bar are always mad, the girl in the morning). Everything else is perfect I love it
