I had such an amazing time staying at Banana Bungalow! Everyone was really nice and there was such a great atmosphere. Each night there is something great to do, we arrived on a Saturday and that night had a $5 meal at the tiki bar downstairs (Massive portion sizes) then we went to one of the best nightclubs I have ever been to! Was such a good night out. The hostel is about a 30-40 minute walk to Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd which is nice a sunny day otherwise a short taxi ride!

Initial impression not good, due to one member of staff who was very unhelpful, didn't give us codes for outer doors and was rude. However rest of the staff were really good, friendly and helpful. The hostel itself was really nice, in a good location- very close to bus services. Good common areas and evening activities. En-suites in rooms was a nice change. Down sides were the beds were rather old and rickety. Our room connected to next door= walking through ours. Favourite hostel to date!

Hostel is located in West Hollywood, making that a good convenient location to different areas of Los Angeles. It is in walking distance of shopping and some attractions, including CBS Studios. The public transportation for the area was decent as well, for what Los Angeles public transportation is. They have all sorts of information available at the hostel. Shuttle vans run to major attractions. Only con for me would be the noise in the lounge area & it being the only place to use the Wi-Fi.

I love this hostel. Stayed here about 10 times. Friendly staff, great partys, always something organised any day of the week so real easy to meet people. They used to do a hot breakfast for $3 which i was gutted to find out they have stopped doing. I would and will be staying here again :-D

1) Misleading 'free shuttle', only one shuttle going TO the airport. You have to book your own prime time shuttle for around $15+tip 2) Some staff were excellent. The guy at the information desk is amazing, very friendly. Others seemed jaded and tired and wouldn't give you the time of the day. 3) A bit of a mess inside rooms. Toilet and sink was clogged up when I was there. The posters seemed to suggest this was a chronic problem. 4) Great location though, walking distance to things

Fantastic Hostel, very clean (Pretty strong smell of disinfectant though) Really friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, wonderful new facilities, lots of room to chill, out door area and nice couches. I was only there for one night and didn't go out but it was a great hostel to stay at :)

Banana Bungalow is fantastic! They really offer so much for the traveler by way of information, planned evening options, breakfast is included, and you can by dinner for $5. Perfect! Really well located in West Hollywood and close to Sunset, Hollywood and Melrose. Day trips available for a good rate, I recommend it if you only have a few days in LA. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are very clean and stocked up, awesome party and chill out/lounge areas. Beds are comfortable too!

This place has fast internet, great breakfasts, delicious dinners for reasonable prices, and plenty of fun activities to help you enjoy the Hollywood experience. I had such a nice time I extended my stay...twice! I would especially like to thank the manager and assistant manager who handled a clerical error with style and grace. This is the place to stay in L.A.
