Banana Bungalow West Hollywood Reviews

Love this place it's got social events with sister hostel, free food and drink. I enjoyed my stay but if your a light sleeper pick a room away from road, traffic runs all night (no exaggeration 10pm-7am) and is loud. That aside love this place.

Good hostel with lots of day tour organised (universal studio, disney , Hollywood). Receptionnists are very nice & helpful. Was in room 203, 6 dorm ensuite. Very clean! Got reimbursed for the shuttle bus. If you have no car like me, you have to walk to have food and stuff but all buses next doOR (217 & 780) goes to hollywood boulevard where you can grab a metro to go anywhete you want (universal, long beach etc....... Day pass is 5$, did not use the kitchen.Cheesecake factory next door.MUST DO!

Great place to stay, very friendly staff. Good location. Nice place to hang around, or relax. You can always ask questions they are happy to help. Huge lobby,and party room downstairs.

A very good atmosphere with very kind people.. One problem only : a lack of communication on the events which are on schedule and which are great fun : barbecues, beer pongs...

Close by and free parking!!

One the female staff member was really rude. She walked into my room looking for some girl and slammed the door behind her both times. The 6 bed is not really just 6 but 12. 4 of the girls in my leave the hostel before 7am for shoplifting and work, but breakfast doesn't start until 08am. Overall, I wouldn't go back or recommend it. There are some amazing hostel not too far away though

I was a solo traveller and stayed there just for 2 nights in a 6 beds dorm, but everything was really good, room cleaned everyday and the staff organize social events during the week. If I go back to LA I'll definitely come back to banana bungalow!!

Guy, who worked at the breakfast area was burping all the time. Toilets were disgusting, dirty comforters, which probably never got cleaned yet. Party athmosphere (if you have a room downstairs, it can happen to you that the dj is right outside infront of your window).

The Cleaner stole stuff from my bed when I was out of the room for just 1 min. (We didn't call the cops / compliant)

Very nice hostel. Clean bedrooms, very secure. The only drawback is the location, a bit far from the nightlife, as transportation in LA, especially at night, is terrible.

Best hostel you will find in LA city. Good value for backpacker trip

loved this place, met some lovely people, free food for breakfast and most dinners, great tours, good prices nice beds! free wifi!!

I loved the buffet in the evening, the breakfast could have been better, more variety, maybe some ham or cheese and a muffin or a croissant....

Clean and has nice charm. But takes a bus ride to get to the major attractions.

Dont even think to walk to the metro station, probably will require 45mins-an hour good walk. Fisherman Market, universal studio are attractions near by. All others require a cab to get there. The upside is, they sometimes offer value dinner or clubs entrance. If you come to Hollywood just for clubbing or parties, this one is the one for you.

This hostel is simply AMAZING! Party everyday, people from all over the world, plus at a great location.

This is a nice hostel in a relatively good location. The staff are really friendly, however; the hostel did lack a bit of character and you really need a car to successfully get around.
