this is a basic hostel, with a nice location, the staff really nice and kind, good for party hard and just going to sleep
Picture of Raquel Ream This was a very chill hostel, with the hammocks in the middle área, and was also extremely close to the beach, and in a good spot to get to everything else. It's very rustic, though, so if you come here, you've got to be wanting that chill beach vibe and not a whole lot else. But not a bad place to stay. Oh, the breakfast was good, just thought I'd write that.
its very good hostel, very good location,,but very old..the shared bathrooms awfull and stinky the rooms are falling apart...nice place though..

The hostel is really really close to the beach: 30 seconds! and 2 minutes walking from the ADO station. A really good and cheap restaurant on the beach, just in the same street. Breakfast ok but not sensational at all. Room ok. Bathroom could be cleaned more often but that's fine, it's above all sand. You have a big common space outside where you can have dinner all together, so it's pretty cool.
Really great location - right next to the beach and avenida 5th. It was great for 3 nights if you don´t expect too much comfort. It´s simple, clean and has really nice breakfast. Staff is very kind and helpfull.
Popol Vuh is a very good located hostel. It is very close to the beach and also to the 5th avenue. The Staff and the owner are very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean an do have the facilities you need. I enjoyed my stay at popol vuh very much because there was a very good athmosphere especially at the back yard where you can chill out and have a drink with the other guests. They do have 24h security so you feel very save. Thank you Alex, Carlos and Bernie for that awesome time :-)
Great location - next to the beach. This also means it is close to the main street (amenities including the bus station & collectivo stop) and the beach front - which can be noisy at times. Gama was welcoming and made sure my stay was enjoyable. Breakfast is standard (eggs, toast, cereal & coffee) and typical of what you'll find in the Yucatan. Recommended.
The guy running the hostel was really friendly. Breakfast was really good. Location was great (although entrance to beach was locked). Sufficient, clean shared bathrooms. Quiet after 11.30pm. Clean rooms. Good fan. We were disappointed when we tried to book another couple of nights that the owner put up the price by 100MXN a night.
Wonderful B&B in Playa del Carmen close to the beach and the 5th avenue. The staff (especially Gama) is very friendly, the atmosphere is very nice and everything is well cleaned. Huge breakfast with different things (cereals, marmelade, cofee, ham, cheese etc...). I've stayed there for four nights but i highly recommend it even if you want to spend more time in the beautiful city of Playa del Carmen on Mayan riviera.
Nice front desk and cleaning staff, but the night time security guard gives off a bit of a creepy vibe and made a mess in the communal bathroom while my friend and I stayed there. Because of the proximity to the beach and the older cement bungalows, the private rooms were really damp. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked and there is zero atmosphere because it's not a place that makes you want to stay and hangout. They do provide breakfast, but it's basic.
