Very pleasant hostel :) Was only here for 9h - had to get up at 4am for a flight. Receptionist was really helpful - booked me a taxi, which turned up and charged on the meter, and got up to let me check out. Logging onto wifi wasn't easy - there was a long number on the wall of the locker in the room which it turned out was not needed for anything - just the room number followed by uppercase bed letter.

Eric was excellent, very kind, and helpful. The location was also excellent, however, there was no elevator to get to the third floor, the wifi didn't work, the remote for the heater didn't work, I couldn't understand how to use the TV or the hot water in the shower (only Chinese instructions), and there was a big centipede in my room.

Excellent price for a great location. Hostel is in Pudong which is the skyscraper district of Shanghai but it is hidden down a lovely little backstreet in a Chinese neighborhood so you really feel like you are in the 'real China'. Only 5 minutes walk to the tube station, on line 2 which is pretty much the major line of the city and takes you direct to either airport and to all the tourist attractions. I would definitely recommend Beehome hostel to stay, you'll have a great experience!

Very nice hostel. We got a loft doble room. The hostel is very near to subway line 2, Dongzhang station. very convenient to airport (Hongqiao & Pudong airport) also Hongqiao Railway station which is the station for bullet train to Hangzhou, nanjing, Beijing, etc. Across the road there are plenty of nice and cheap restaurant. the supermarket is around the corner. very recommended.

The staff at reception are not very helpful and they have got poor english. Sometimes they come across as having attitude problems, asking them a question is like your ruining their day! However, the location of the hostel is really good, it has easy access to the subways. The financial centre is on the door step. The rooms are kept really clean but when you sleep, your sleeping on the wooden slates of the bed the mattress is that thin!

Poor wifi, not good beds (talking about six beds room), and poor social place if go on winter time. Very good location if you dont go on new year holidays. If you do, better go near from Nanjing road area.

I can't comment on 'character' and 'atmosphere' because I was at the hostel to sleep mostly. As for 'facilities' I found the room cold (I had difficulty turning on the heat) and the bed hard. Other then that, the location is good (close to a subway stop on Line 2).

The staff were very friendly, one even helped me get my two large, heavy suitcases to the metro station (and to buy breakfast) when I left early the next morning! The beds were a little hard (I slept on top of my duvet, fortunately the room was very warm), and more power points for the top bunks would be good - there weren't quite enough for the phones and laptops that needed charging. It would be a good idea for them to send an email confirming bookings - I had to email them to confirm.

We stayed one night in a triple bedroom. The facilities were nice, own bathroom/ toilet, heating, tv, watterkettle, we received slippers, towels and hairdryer (things I rather not bring with me when traveling). The place was clean and fine. But Pudong Area...I personally think the other side of the river is more fun to stay at. The hostel is a 10 min walk from the nearest metrostation. Staff was friendly.

Only stayed one night, but a very enjoyable experience. Staff was efficient and more than helpful. We overslept for our taxi to the airport, but the night security guard found our room and saved the day! The lobby had a very nice bar, and the facilities were all in great, clean condition.

The dorm room was clean (beds were made daily) and the bathroom was much better than I'm used to for hostels in China. The owner is quite friendly and speaks excellent English, he can arrange tours around Shanghai or provide frank advice on what to do and where to go. Located very close to the subway and SWFC in Pudong.
