Overall Borneo Gaya Lodge is a place for those who wouldn't mind cheap, affordable accommodation. I've stayed at Gaya Lodge during my visit early last year or was it the year before. I was staying in the exact same room too. The flat screen tv mounted on the wall is new..if only all 3 channels worked. Anyhow, I stayed for only 4 nights (2nd - 6th July). Still need some improvement especially dark stain in toilet bowl (use bleach maybe?). Personal view..not bad!

There was an old lady living at the hostel in one room that appeared it was in absolute squalor. She made the other guests uncomfortable by not allowing them to watch their tv shows or rudely interrupting them mid show and insist she watched her shows. To be honest she sucked the entire vibe out of the place and the other tourists didn't want to spend any time in the common area . I think if it wasn't for that it would have been a nice place to stay.

I love this place because of the location, but however a little bit disappointed with the size of toilet as well as bathroom, there is only 1 room for bath and toilet. I really can't imagine if the place is fully booked and everyone will queue for bath or using toilet, besides the packages and tour displayed wasn't updated. Furthermore there is no proper place to hang wet clothes as I'm staying for 4nights, I can't hang my wet clothes after beach activities at all, at the end hang inside roo
