It's not in the city centre (half an hour by walking) but it's close to Wawasan terminal, which makes it great starting point for trips:) Great and helpful staff in the reception, standard it's ok for the price. Really nice 24h Indian Restaurant nearby.

This hostel is about what could be expected for the price, but I'd rather pay $2 more a night and stay closer to the city centre and not have to bring my own toilet paper.

The dorm beds are basic and the sheets could have been cleaner, but overall a pretty average hostel. The staff were very pleasant when we checked in at midnight, but the new staff in the morning were very rude and unhelpful. The power went off at 8:00 AM and stayed off until we left at noon, which wasn't the fault of the staff, but they were not very nice about it.

Really only two down points. The location is really bad. Really bad. The rooms have no windows or air con, just a fan so they smelled quite bad and were very hot. Other than this it is good. Really cheap, good atmosphere, a large social area. Wifi strength could be better but if you sit downstairs it works just fine.

This hostel is great for families and backpackers looking for adventure. The location is not in the middle of the tourist trap which means getting the opportunity to immerse yourself a little in the culture. BGB has its own bus, so book your tours in advance and leave directly from the hostel. No mess, no fuss. The staff are seasoned tour guides and super friendly. A great choice.

This place certainly has no extra fluff, but really, who can expect that for only 15 ringgit per night. The facilities all worked fine, the rooms weren't the cleanest, the breakfast was bread. In the end, it was just what I expected, a basic and cheap hostel. My only complaint was the location. The bus stops running pretty early so the 5 ringgit saved was spent on a 15 ringgit cab ride home every time I stayed out later than 8pm. There's really nothing around the hostel but tire shops either.
