My worst experience in over 100 hostels around the world.Facilities are exaggerated incl free stuffs/breakfast.Misleading.Kitchen is dirty&stinky, open to common area which makes it very uncomfortable & crowded esp. on bad weathers.Communal areas are small compared to no.of people.Tons of rules on the walls, but no practicality(still noisy until 2-3 am).Receptionists were very unfriendly & stereotyped.People without heart and mind makes things worst.I DO NOT recommend any body for peace of mind.

Deposit for cuttlery, plates, mugs, etc?!? Sucks! Especially when staff does not even tell you about it. No roof between the different buildings is rather disadvantageous during wet season.

Hostel was clean enough, staff were helpful and polite. The seating area indoors next to the kitchen is very small and when it rains can get very busy as no one wants to sit outside. Kitchen very good size, there is free internet which is a bonus. The bar in the hostel has a variety of activities each night and was a good place to socialise there were also free movies each day which helped pass time when it rained!

A nice hostel with fair price but too many rules!! Anything takes deposit. Some staffs are nice while some are a little bit impatient. But it's a good place to stay if you want get a job. Awesome night view and free wifi in the common room are great plus!

Great hostel in a great location, close to the main transit centre & to CBD but also out of the hustle & bustle which was amazing!

Big room and beds made daily however had to clean up a huge clump of someone else's hair from the carpet and there was also a massive gaping hole in the carpet. En suite was clean. Nice to have rooftop swimming pool, amazing rooftop views of the city and free wifi. Staff friendly and helpful but unfortunately it was impossible to organise excursions through the reception. Probably a great place to stay if you're travelling with people but not on your own as its too big to meet people.

The room we were in was a little stuffy and the street outside the window was a bit noisy, but they also offered breakfast there and that was by far the best breakfast we had during our 3-weeks of travel.

Really good location and it was great having the bar and swimming pool there. My only gripe here was that the air conditioning didn't work and there were no fans. The room was EXTREMELY hot and stuffy with only one badly placed window and no other ventilation.

The staff are amazing and cant do enough for you, The hostel has an amazing security system. Electronic key cards, night managers, cctv and the option to store valuables behind reception. The hostel has its own bar which is amazing, we're all here to party on our gap year so who wants a hostel thats quiet and boring?? Such a great 3 days here.. The hostel is very clean, there is always cleaners working, however the cleaning manager needs to be a bit more friendly. apart from her.. 100% :)

one of the few places probabilly with FREE WIFI, big and good kitchen, great movie room, like a CINEMA., unfortunately the PEOPLE aren't NOT SO FRIENDLY, probabilly because it's too big, too many people and everyone is busy to use internet on the coputer, NO ALCOL ALLOWED cause there's a bar

I booked 7 nights at city Backpackers and asked to cancel the last 2 nights at arrival. The manager didn't even look at me, just said "NO" and walked away. Why couldn't I cancel the last 2 nights 5 days before? I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I had to pay for those extra nights. Furthermore the staff was always talking to eachother and customers had to wait until their conversations were finished, to be served.

- your stuff is taken away if you dont put it on bed on cleaning day. wtf? of course they tell you you have to put your stuff on the bed before but never had this in a hostel before. - staff entering your room to search for alcohol-->made us feel like children on a schooltrip - free i-net but doesnt always work(wifi) and is very slow - kitchen way to small, almost always crowded, fridges are packed, our milk disappeared twice during our stay (though labled etc) mostly clean and nice view though

The fridge was full and everyone was cooking at the same time though the kitchen is not big enough. I was staying in a female dorm, but one of my roommate brought her boyfriend or someone and I told a receptionist, but I think they didnt do anything about it.

a huge place but it doesnt feel like that. i stayed in a female dorm, finally a hostel with a big mirror! lots of sunbeds. the kitchen could be bigger, it was always packed in there, but that wouldnt stop me to reccomend this hostel .good beds and my dorm was far away from noise. free internet is ace!

Great atmosphere, very clean, good place to stay. Only complaint would be that there is nowhere to put clothes or towels in the showers without them getting wet.
