The facilities are great, cleaning was undertaken well however some guests are just really messy. The biggest problem for myself was the lack of sleep I got due to the sound of the doors slamming shut, my own dorm room and others in the corridor. Even with good earplugs it would wake me up. The soft close devices need looking at as they should be quiet, please:)

Great location and is very walkable to the central parts of the city (Southbank/Fortitude Valley) Only issues I encountered were low water pressure in the bathroom (may have been a one off as my travel companion had no complaints) and the A/C in my room didn’t work amazingly so was quite hot at night. Also the nearby trains may be bothersome if you are light sleeper. Overall great facilities, clean rooms and very friendly staff… would 100% stay again on my next trip to Brisbane!

Cool, contemporary and convenient, the Brisbane City YHA is the perfect hostel for groups or solo travellers looking to mix with fellow adventurers and make some friends. You don't even need to step out the front door to find a party, the bar is always bouncing and there's plenty of entertainment besides, like pool tables, swimming pool and a games room where they hold frequent Wii competitions. It's close to the centre too, as well as within walking distance of the transit centre, so you won't be getting lost.
