Dorm room expensive and lots of noise coming from the common areas due to no roof between the dorms and common areas so ask for earplugs if you wish to sleep early. Noise wasn't a problem late at night, though. Picked this hostel because it was so close to Suncorp Stadium and the location was perfect for that :) Great staff who were friendly and helpful. Clean dorm and kitchen area with plenty of supplies and a fab rooftop deck!

Brisbane City YHA has always been my regular place of stay whenever i am travelling through for the above reasons and its convenient access to rail, coach and airline travel.

A good hostel. Location is only OK. Is a bit of a walk to anywhere interesting within Brisbane. Staff are very helpful. Very very clean hostel. Very large almost like a hotel. No atmosphere.

The hostel was in a great location, walking distance for everything! The staff at reception were also very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms, however, were not cleaned very well and the showers barely worked. This was disappointing as YHA is a more expensive hostel and is supposed to be cleaner than others, but is one wasn't.

Nice and helpful staff. It's jus like halls of college. The room is neat and tidy. It's not at the heart of city centre but its alright as it's near the transit centre which is very convenient in travel to other places.

clean, close to transport, walking distance to any CBD area (except probably brunswick st/china town). Make sure you go to boundary st in west end for their cafe's. Keep an eye out for atomica, I'm not sure if they are related to the atomica in Melbourne, but they make really good coffee.

Very high standard hostel, good facilities, everything very clean and in good condition (except the TV room smells like cheese!) Huge lockers in the room, with a plug socket in. Nice big communal area with pool on roof. Activities on every night. Good location, close to the CBD and transit centre. No free internet/wifi and lacks the friendly touch of a smaller hostel.

This hostel was perfect. Facilities were clean and comfortable. I made use of the large kitchen and food storage system. Beside no towels provided - feels like staying in a hotel. Staff was helpful for booking activities and airport transfers. Quiet nights in are my thing and I was able to relax, but they also had nightly activities for travellers wanting more out of the nights - good way to meet people. I would recommend! (have to pay for internet/wifi is only downside)

I enjoyed staying in YHA and the staff was very kind but the Internet was not free unfortunately and its speed was slow. I think the Internet access must be free.

The hostel was a 15 minute walk from the greyhound station & a 5 minute walk from the supermarket. The 6 bed dorm was clean, spacious & had large locker storage with night lights being provided above each bed. The hostel had the usual YHA feel however better kitchen equipment was needed as this was often left dirty or in poor condition. Food lockers were available. Showers were usually quite dirty & one was always out of order during our stay. Laundry available & WI-FI connection generally poor.

The staff is very friendly, the hostel is very clean and I felt very safe there. I really recommend this hostel even though it is not the cheapest one.

Wow this place has changed a bit! Last time I was here the back building was slightly more... modest ;) The new one is very impressive. The roof top pool and recreation area is awesome and the kitchen is one of the best designed for a large hostel I have seen. Stayed in a private room for a treat which was comfy, clean and functional with good aircon. The wifi has finally come down to a more reasonable price too. Possibly the most expensive hostel in town, but you get what you pay for. Cheers!

Only adverse comment is that cutlery and crockery often had to be washed before use as well as after. Ie they were put away dirty by guests and drawers were not inspected or cleaned by staff. Lack of some utensils. Nice top floor terrace cafe and pool but only a brick wall view from lower bedrooms.

Nice to have the rooftop pool - not huge but good for a cooldown. Very clean, tidy and secure as you'd expect from a YHA - though needing room card to use the toilets is perhaps overkill. Helpful friendly staff on reception who gave advice on transport and trips. Large communal spaces, spacious and well equipped kitchen. Rooms clean and tidy.

Great hostel, nice staff, lovely rooftop pool, huge kitchen with good facilities, decent sized rooms and large lockers. Wifi is $5 for 1 day, $10 for 3 days and $15 for 7 days. Good restaurant next to the hostel and supermarket is 5 mins away. Nice walk into CBD. Only 2 negative points - the toilets and showers are in the same room and have no windows or real ventilation. They need to be cleaned more regularly as the bins fill up and the smell is bad. Luggage storage room also smells awful!
