Nice hostel, 15 minutes walking from the Zocalo and 5 minutes from Santo Domingo. The hostel is very clean, breakfast is filling (eggs, cereals, bread, some fruit). Good (hot) water pressure in the showers. Some of the staff members are rather lethargic, but overall it's a nice play to stay. You can hear people in the kitchen from the dorms on the ground floor (1-2-3-4). Too bad the terrace closes at 11pm, because some guests then go back to the main area and can be very loud.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Angel. The rooms were super clean, the beds comfortable enough, and we appreciated the fact that they had 3 bed rooms so my friends and I could have some privacy. Thanks, Casa Angel!

I loved it, the atmosphere, close to the centre, clean, I met wonderful people and the breakfast is GREAT!

Very nice hostel. One of the cleanest and fresh looking hostels I've ever stayed in. It was a little quiet when we were there so not many people to meet, but it may have been because it was low season and everywhere was quiet. I've heard from others since that there is often much more of a party vibe there so I'm sure it would be better for that when it's a little busier. Great roof top terrace which has BBQs on Sundays. Would definitely recommend it. Helpful staff too.

Really good hostel, would recommend. Great rooftop terrace to relax on, really clean, and eggs for breakfast! Having to ask for hot water outside 8-10 was a bit annoying, but apart from that all great.

Top hostel! Close to everything, awesome staff and great amenities. This hostel also provides nice breakfasts, affordable tours and transport to Puerto Escondido, right from its door!

This is my third time staying at Casa Angel, and I feel strongly that it is the best hostel in Oaxaca. It is also one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Everything that I value in a hostel is consistently present at Casa Angel. The cleanliness of this hostel is top-level, the breakfast is one of the best I have seen in a hostel (they make eggs to order for you, along with providing the staples such as cereal, bread and bananas). I will definitely be returning.

Casa Angel Hostel ... This was indeed an excellent choice to make for staying in Oaxaca. The staff is incredibly nice, which creates a very welcoming feel to this hostel. Breakfast is always delicious and served with a smile. The best part was indeed having a roof top terrace with a view on the city where everyone could gather at sunset to share a few drinks. Highly recommend this hostel. Muchas gracias! Amagi

What impressed me most was the quality of mattresses and the cleanning of the place. I reaaly enjoy it. If you want a hot shower at a different time than 8 to 10 (am and pm) you have to ask, but it's not really a problem. the breakfast was nice with eggs and fruits.

PROS: Popular with young travelers so it's easy to make friends, fluent and very helpful staff (also a lot of fun, and pretty to look at!), pretty quiet neighborhood, yet not too far from Santo Domigo/the Zocalo, CHEAP, very clean CONS: while there someone had had their iphone stolen from next to their bed while sleeping, communication pre-visit via e-mail was not very prompt--HIGHLY recommend using Hostelworld.com to book your reservation

The best part of the stay was the cleanliness, but more importantly the staff! Everyone was so friendly, and after a few days, it felt like coming to a home, not a hostel!
