I've been here for a week and Castaways one of the most fun hostels I've stayed in, everyone is SO nice and fun, the place is clean and I felt really safe here. I'll be sad to leave!

This hotel was very clean and the kitchen amenities adequate, the staff were helpful and friendly. Having said that the only reason I booked the hostel was for the free wifi and the airport transfers, on calling the hostel to arrange the transfer they mentioned they no longer did this and paid $12, the wifi was also not available in my room. The shuttle also runs infrequently and the free dinner involves buying a drink starting at $5.5 and because of torrential rain a cab is needed at $9.

This hostel is lovely and clean with good facilities, maybe even the best hostel I've stayed in with regards to cleanliness of kitchen and bathroom areas etc, HOWEVER if you wish to feel welcome on your stay, DO NOT stay here. One member of staff was so rude to guests that at least 5 guests that were staying long term looked for accommodation elsewhere. The walk into town takes about 15 minutes..

Let\'s face it: castaway\'s is far away from the city center, and although there is a shuttle service it can be annoying to have to book it 20 min ahead. In all other apects, Castaway\'s offers you everything you expect from a Backpackers! Good facilities, friendly and helpful staff that can organize any tour for you and specials at holidays as well as a dinner in a pub included each day!!!

This was one of the best hostels we have stayed at in Australia. It had a quiet and relaxed atmosphere which was great. All the staff was friendly and helpful. I'm happy that we chose to stay here.

Castaways was in short, brilliant! It's maybe a 10-15 minute walk to the city but this hostel is more than worth it. They run free shuttles too! The staff were incredibly helpful, the place was very clean and the kitchen had more than enough space, utensils etc (with none of the silly deposits that have to be made at other hostels for plates etc). There are no bunk beds, which is a dream come true when your used to 10 bed dorms! This hostel would definately suit a worker/more mature backpacker!

Superb hostel if you're looking for something a little quieter than those in the centre of town, but with a lovely laid back vibe, clean facilities, comfy beds etc. Highly recommended for those who are no longer 18 and wanting to party all day and night, whilst being only 10 mins from town and with courtesy shuttle buses if you can't take the humidity of the walk!

Only stayed one night so difficult to pass comment. Would have liked if the transfer into town had been directly to the Greyhound bus stop.
