Best-located, clean and safe hostel with friendly staff. I stayed at the 12-bed dorm, a bit high to climb but it is the cheapest so I can't complain. No common kitchen but you can have as much hot tea as you want with bake or sweets you can easily find in the area or just visit low-priced restaraunts in the nearest back streets.

The hostel has no deco at all, the atmosphere was bad and there are no planned activities. Staff was helpful although for normal things, nothing more. The hostel definetely needs a lift up, 2009 best hostel, come on that is already 4 years ago!

The hostel is in a great location, approximately 5 minutes walk from Taksim Square and the buses and metro there. The boss, Ahmet, is a friendly fella who, along with his staff, sets the tone for a pleasant stay. He inquires into your trip, checks to make sure you know your way around, and has invaluable advice. The rooms are also quite airy and are not cramped at all. The only nuisance was the waft of hookah smoke from downstairs that one could smell upstairs on one of the evenings.

The owner of the hostel is incredible - he is readily accessible and offers help in everything he can from finding good cheap food to finding a Turkish Bath (Hemam). The location is great and accessible to the older city and main sightseeing areas pretty easily (10-15 minute cab, 30 minutes on public transit). Being near Taksim Square is best for hanging around in the evenings, especially for tourists new to the city.

Such a great location at the heart of Istiklal Avanue. Rooms and baths were clean and the owner was so helpful and funny person. If you stay at the Boheme all you need to do is enjoying Istanbul without any concern!

I stayed this hostel only two days but the staff is super good. For example, they advised me a good information about restaurants and sightseeing spots. Even after leaving the hostel, they allowed me to put my carry case in the hostel. They are so kind to all customers. This hostel is located near from Taksim square. So you don't have to worry about the access problem.

The hostel is very well situated near Taksim Square and the staff is 24/7 available, friendly and helpful. The building itself was partly renovated and as well as the furniture in good condition and quite clean. The only thing that really bothered me is that there were several stacks of unused spare furniture around in several rooms as well as unused and forgotten stuff in several racks in the dorm (like forgotten books and old pillows). A major spring cleaning should take place there.

First of all, my friend and I felt like home. Amhet (owner) his son, and the staff are amazing; they took care of us every time and every advice and recomendation that they gave us improved our trip. Ahmet helped us to organice a trip To Cappadocia, Pamukale and Ephesus, it resulted moré cheaper than another offers that some friends bought. The trip was awesome. So I suggest this hostel because is very well located, good price, you can trust in Ameth and his son (Bilal) they are excellents!

There was ups and downs and you shouldn't expected a lot from the place. I loved the location, very close to main street and easy to find. During my staying i missed the lounge room and kitchen what was in hostel description before i booked it. Also service as laundry washing ( for money ) would be very usefull. The most ironic thing was the rule made while i was staying in hostel : you can't go any other people room, what was the less common to anything what i heard before as a fine service.

I could not have wished for a more positive experience. The staff were all the friendliest, most accommodating, and genuine people, and they truly made the place feel like home. I miss them all terribly and hope that the next time I am in town, Ahmet will let me stay there again. I promise to make sure everyone I know who travels to Istanbul will stay there!! Love you, Miss you!! Maggie

Our short stay at Chambers of the Boheme was fantastic! The staff was very helpful in telling us where to go for food, how to get certain places, etc. The location can't be beat - only a block from Istiklal, where you can find literally anything, and go out to some crazy places! There weren't too many people staying when we were there, so we got a room all to ourselves for the same low price. An all around great experience!
