The Hostel is pretty big and busy, I went during a weekend during peak season so the place was packed with families and didn't exactly have a hostel feeling. Price is good though and the staff are great and organize trips to the North and Western slopes everyday, they also helped me car pool a taxi to the north slope for cheap. Note, the hostel changed location recently. just make sure you have the name in Chinese, every taxi driver in town will know the place.

WangSong. situated way out in nowhere, turned out to be a great find, Staff well-organized and professional, understanding and helpful, run by very efficient group. English is spoken. Tours are expensive but West Gate tour should not be missed. When I got lost and confused from my own errors, hostel arranged another driver to bail me out. Good meeting and dining area. It's the only hostel in Changbaishan listed by Hostelworld. Difficult to find but well with the trip.
We stayed there only for one night but the stuff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Everything was fine. It´s around 45 min. drive to the north gate entrance of the mountain. The west entrance is quite far, around 250 km away and we would not recommend the drive to this place from here.
