We booked this place at the last minute because there were no other options. Its fine, nothing special. The staff spoke English which was good but not very knowledgeable about the city

would be nice to recieve more information at the arrival. i mean for exemple to say where the kitchen is, or the rooftop. stuff like this. and i would have wished that the staff greet when they see you. rooms nice but because of the marbel everywhere very loud in the room, when people downstairs are still hanging around.

I really enjoyed my time at Cielo. Really great location, helpful staff and great breakfast. No bar, but a really nice courtyard that we could hang out in. Met some lovely people which made my stay so obviously it will depend on who's staying there at the time. Great relaxed atmosphere to unwind and plan adventures. Not a place to party but a place to chat and meet people definitely.

It is a smaller adorable hostel with lots of open space where you can hang out. It has a relaxed atmosphere, very helpful staff and if you stay more than a day or two you get to know all the residents there. It is also quite near the main square, the markets and all the attractions.

Great place. The only thing that could be improved is the use of the common areas especially the courtyard. Add some more table and maybe some plants to make it more comfortable to hang out. Everything else was great.

Great hostel. We loved the laid back atmosphere in the main area. The pool table was a nice addition and the lockers in the room were big. They lent me a lock for free, too! Decent continental and cereal breakfast included. Can't say anything bad about this place!

The only negative thing I have to say is that this place has paper thin walls and you can hear everything, everywhere, all the time. Luckily I sleep through most things, so for me, wasn't that big of a deal. For some it may be though. There is no air con but on the day that I was leaving they were getting some portable fans and distributing them. Decent hostel, but a little steep on prices for the private ensuite rooms for what it is. Friendly staff.

Hi ! It was great you were here And yeah, we equipped every dorm and room with very useful fans!!!! :) Few portable, but most bigger ones. The hostel is an old renewed house with all new stuff, but we can assure you the walls are everything but no thin paper walls :p. Anyways we are glad you had a great experience in Oaxaca! Thanks for your comments, and hope you come back again :)

i stayed in a room with 4 bed. it seem all the room is open to the court. it should be a little noisy at night because of the chatting. don't take the room next to the street it's so noisy. and there is no loccker in my room, i had to stock my staff downstair. and just i find it's incredible, there is no micro wave in the kichen , i think they have to do more to be worth with their high rate.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi ! Merci pour tes commentaries. We do have a microwave now. And yeah! We are one of the best rated because we are one of the most popular hostels in southern Mexico (around 80 reviews and just a few months we opened!!). For the common feedback we have an excellent: staff, location, cleanliness, security; great kitchen, patios, good ambiance, New mattresses, Cultural involvement in Oaxaca, and a constant improvement

I stayed for 2 nights at this hostel. It was easy to get there from the bus terminal about 15 minuted on food. The staff was helpful. I wanted to wash my clothes, they have a laundry machine but no dryer. But no problem they have a place for a drying clothes on the roof. It cost 35 pesos for using machine. Free breakfast was nice the first day, I think it depends on the timing. Anyway I enjoyed staying.

Great hostel, I can highly recommend it. Bring some ear.plugs for the night (sometimes you can hear ppl in the patio) and everything is fine. Great staff, very helpful and the free city Tour with Joaquin was interesting.

Everything is top quality at Cielo Rojo and they really have good understanding of what's going on in the city. The daily calender on the board is very useful. Great location and atmosphere. Stayed longer than we booked at first and could stayed even longer. Highly recommended!

Very well located charming hostel close to the main square. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always eager to make you have a pleasant moment. The inner courtyard and the rooftop are perfect to chill out. Pool table is a very good bonus.
