I thought the hostel is fantastic for its architecture...like a cave...loved the rooftop. The kitchen and the bathrooms need a renewall.

The location of the hostel is great as well as staff and atmosphere inside, very nice view from the terrace. The thing I didn't like is my room which was below the ground level. Be sure to book room at upper floors. It could be cleaner!

What an awesome place. The staff is super nice and helpful, and extremely knowledgable about the area (major thanks to Adam for all the help and great stories). The place itself is fantastic - the rooftop has an incredible view, the room had a comfortable bed, and the building is really old (but well maintained) so that you can feel the history of the city right from the hostel. Location is obviously incredible - easily the best hostel in the old city (a friend w/out a res looked at many).

The room we had was spacious and had character. The bed was warm and comfortable. No wifi in bedrooms due to the stone walls but plenty of space downstairs for sitting and using the internet with plug sockets available. They offer cheap laundry service. Staff are helpful in trying to book tours etc. The location is absolutely excellent. Has a roof terrace which is great to look out over the city at night. Would definitely stay at again. Only downside was lack of hot water on occasion in bathroom

The Citadel is a really nice hostel with a great roof top terasse. The atmosphere in the old building with its stone walls is quite nice. The staff was nice and the location is directly in the old center.

thel ocation is perfect. if you only stay for a night, go stay at the citadel hotel! if you're staying longer, i probably wouldn't recommend it, since the showers are tiny and if you're in room 1 - there is really no space for your luggage. also, it smells a little weird there.

The beautiful roof-terrace with view over the old city was so excellent that we really enjoyed the stay although our dorm was very small and the air was always bad because we didn't have a window. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great too cause you can reach everything walking.

The rooms on the ground floor are practically in the middle of the common area so it is almost impossible to get asleep before midnight.

This place is a dump. No windows in room, & I got bit by bedbugs - which is not so unusual, but it's how they responded: I asked to change my room, but the place was full. I said I was already in the wrong room, since I booked a 7-bed dorm, and there were 8 beds in it. I was told that all rooms have one extra "emergency" bed, but they were all full - and had been every night of my stay- even the busy season! They lie on Hostelworld about the number of beds in each room. Terrible & dishonest.

Otherwise great hostel in an excellent location, but the female dorm had a really bad smell and ventilation. The dorms didn't have lockers or door that could be locked. There were small safety lockers in the lobby, but otherwise your stuff was just laying in the room all day. Front door seemed to be guarded pretty well though.

The main reason to stay in this hostel is for the location-- it was incredible to wake up and already be in the heart of the Old City. If you're looking for a social atmosphere, there isn't much of one here, and the bedrooms are extremely cramped. Don't take the dorm room near the front door-- noise and light are a big problem since there are open/slatted windows directly to the common space where people pass through at all hours.

A crazy maze of a building with low ceilings and an awesome view from the roof! Helpful staff on hand at all times, What more do you want?

This was a really great place to stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful. I wish all other hostels were as good as this! It was very close to the city centre and the roof terrace was beautiful. The only problem was that some guests were very noisy upside our room quite late. Thank you for a lovely stay! We will definitely come back.

the place is very dirty and expensive. I have the room upstairs and it`s cold as yet. The bathroom is very unconfortable and the room has a bad smell for the lack of ventilation.
