The staff are just outright rude. Simple as that. Those that you can tell are on working visas just don't care how they act. Food was lush though and location is pretty central (not that its a massive place) Very clean but seems they are constantly cleaning and kick you out of wherever you are to clean - not good.

your staff is really helpful and gentle, except one man at the reception, he was really grumpy. I would say he's around 30 40 and he was really impolite.

Cool Bananas was the best hostel I have stayed in yet! Has a very friendly atmosphere, great meal deals and is very relaxed. I extended my stay by two nights :)

A chilled out hostel, which matches the atmosphere of Agnes Water. There is little to do in Agnes water, especially if it rains. We did the Scooteroo tour, which was amazing. There are hammocks around the hostel, it can be a little noisy to sleep in the dorms due to music outside It is quite sociable and there is a fair sized kitchen and free tea/coffee all day. The staff do dinner deal, like a BBQ when we were there. Don't spend to long here though if you haven't got much time on the east coast

This Hostel is really nice and a good place to stay. If I return I'll stay there again. Its not that big, so its easy to meet new friends and become a part of the Hostel Crew. The atmosphere is great!!! Althought there is no security service, you feel save, we never locked our door. The Rooms, shower and kitchen are clean. The hammocks are great for relaxing after surfing. There is a opportunity to get a dinner for 6 $ and Crepe for 3 $, if you sign in befor 3pm. The food is really good!

Clean hostel, with laidback atmosphere - hammocks, small outdoor area with fires some nights and seating around TV. Poor start to experience as a friend had booked and paid deposit but not confirmed the day before, so they made a big fuss about how full it was. Poor service and a bad policy for those that have paid a deposit. Hobs are a bit fiddly to work (bring matches/lighter). Internet was free, but only one computer working. Nearest wifi is in the Info centre about 5-10min walk away.

Good place to stay. Rooms were clean and simple. Free internet in reception was good. Showers were generally clean but busy periods obviously made this difficult to maintain. Kitchen was well kept- even being cleaned as people were using it. Generally staff were really nice (except one who was a bit rude). Would recommend this hostel- good value for money. Could do with lockers but not a massive issue as it felt like a safe place.

It's a really clean hostel..you get picked up from the greyhound stop when you arrive, that's pretty good. But better walk when you leave the town, because you can't count on them..Missed the greyhound because the hostel was not able to run their shuttle bus right. At least I got one night for free then..but there is absolutely nothing to do in Agnes Water! 2 nights are enough..definately do the Scooteroo! So much fun! The kitchen in the hostel is really clean!! But I didn't like the gas cookers

Lockers in the room would have made for a perfect review. They will store your valuables behind reception though so not a big deal. Great hostel

Its a nice hostel, no one shuts their door, so its a risk, but its a nice group of people when I was there, but that can always change. The place was really nice though, and its only a few blocks from the beach and shopping. They pick you up from the bus stop and its only a 5 minute walk back to it. Agnes Water is a quiet town so if you want action, not the place, if you want peace and quiet in a chill hostel then check it out.

When we turned up to cool bananas having been picked up by the hostel minibus, the owner was screaming blue murder at his staff then laid into us, the guests. Despite booking through hostel world and paying our deposits, we were turned away, he claimed to have not received our bookings. Luckily the other hostels in town could accommodate us but it wasn't what we needed after a 10 hour night bus. I haven't got my deposit back either. If it weren't for the owner the hostel would be nice.

When we arrived we were told fairly abruptly that as we had not reconfirmed our booking 24 hrs ahead our booking was cancelled! Fortunately there was space for us, but not for others who arrived at the same time. After this initial glitch, the staff (mainly the charismatic owner/manager) were helpful, giving advice on activities and helping to book including some discounts. A large green property yet is kept immaculately clean. There is a very reasonable bar and nightly cheap dinner.
