Ok, so this place can be difficult to get to. That's the first thing to get out of the way. You can walk in 45 mins from Keswick or take the 78 bus, which runs regularly within limited hours. But it's not a problem if you're in the Lake District to do what you're likely there to do: Walk! For that, the hostel is well located. Take a look through the binder in every room that suggests walks if you're a beginner. Make sure to go up to Surprise View -- then Wadentath and Rosthwaite another day

It's not really situated in Borrowdale but if you know that, this hostel is great. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the facilities are clean and very spacious. The food was good an the hostel is huge and situated next to a beautiful waterfall.

Million dollar views, excellent food onsite preordered. Perfect spot for walkers or those that just want to relax. ferry to take you into kendal for shop browsing and activities. Lovely spot.

breakfast on second day was poor, although paid in advance, was a first come first served basis, would not recommend
