a fantastic place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff. A great coffee machine and teas for free. A little further from the action, but a lively bar down stairs. Great rooms with wide, comfortable beds equipped with curtains. Fun themes in the rooms. It can be a bit quiet if you are looking to mingle with other guests, but you can still meet people there. Overall, a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Probably the best hostel I have stayed in, ever, and I've stayed in a lot. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Free organic tea and coffee in the lounge, free internet & use of a laptop. No hidden charges for sheets etc. Great location near to town centre and u-bahn stop, shops and cafes close by. Great bar downstairs, with guest discount. Rooms beautiful and really big comfy beds with curtains for privacy.

Staff were very nice without feeling fake. Beds were nice, best thing about it were the beds. Huge comfy beds with curtains. The only issue is that the curtains didn't let you know who was in your room and it turned into a very antisocial environment. Nobody talked at breakfast or in the rooms. So if you're looking for a chill out hostel this is great. Got caught up on lots of sleep there.

Very clean, well managed hostel- lovely room and showers + very helpful staff. Atmosphere is a bit different as they only allow over 21s and sadly there is no kitchen. Breakfast is paid but looks quite nice (we didn't have it), location is good if you like being in more interesting districts- it's in the belgian quarter with lots of nice restaurants. Bit far from the centre but we had a very nice stay in the awesome space room and saw plenty of cologne :)

good hostel, felt a little sterile though, not a great place to meet people, really more for group travellers, great facilities and easy location though

Very social and safe, and the comfiest beds I've slept in in a hostel! Would have been nice to have some fruit with the breakfast.

The best hostel I've ever stayed in -- everything was so cute and nicely decorated. Loved it!

I've stayed at several hostels, but Die Wohngemeinschaft is something else. The 8 bed dorm's beds are huge! And contained within their own hole in the wall, curtained off for privacy but still maintaining a cosy atmosphere (and reducing the risk of anyone seeing you getting changed 😊). Themed rooms are quite common, but DW has a far more stylish, sophisticated take, making it feel like a boutique hotel. Super-friendly staff & the cafe/bar downstairs is the perfect warmup for a night out!

Had a fantastic stay here! Very safe place and the staff were very accommodating. The room we stayed in (photographer themed) was pretty awesome too. Showers and toilets and were clean and close to our room as well. Breakfast in the morning was very good (although €5.50 may have been a little steep of a price). Would definitely return if given the opportunity.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel. The hostel was so clean everywhere. The bathrooms, the shower rooms, the bedrooms, the common room.... All were spotless. Also the beds were double beds which is great in a hostel and they were comfy too. Each room has a really cool theme and was really well decorated

We came to Cologne JUST for this hostel and we weren't disappointed. What a COOL and unique experience! Awesome stay, clean facilities, one of a kind room.
