The a&o Köln Neumarkt has been completely refurbished in 2019 and is located in the beautiful, characteristically Cologne Mauritiusviertel district. The hostel has rooms with modern furnishings in various categories as well as a lobby bar where you can enjoy the cheerful Cologne spirit that is often celebrated.
The a&o Köln Neumarkt in the middle of the Mauritiusviertel is both quiet and centrally located. Cologne Central Station is 2.2 km away. With its central location the a&o hostel is easy to reach by car or by public transportation, and is an excellent starting point for excursions into the city.
The Hostel, with its spacious lobby and the a&o lounge, has plenty of room to sit back and relax. With its proximity to the trade fair grounds and its own conference rooms, the location is also perfect for business travelers. Kitchen was spacious with good laundry facilities. The rooms were clean - however the security of the female dorms did feel questionable at times with just the one card checkpoint for entry and male staff cleaning and fixing things at various times. Overall it was fine for the price!

The quadruple room was very spacious and well equipped. There were some issues. We booked four beds. The double bed was made, however the bunk bed was not. We had to put the sheets on ourselves and dress the pillows and bedspreads. If the beds had been made, the staff would notice that one of the bedsheets provided had a stain on it and was not properly washed. One of the chairs was wobbly. The lift goes up to the 4th floor, the room in on the 5th. The atmosphere in the hostel is good.

The staff at the reception was so helpful and kind, the rooms were clean, they give you bed sheets and a towel. The hostel itself is not so noisy but it’s located in a lively area. Only downside was the rooms were a little bit hot.
