The A&O Hostel in Cologne is nicely decorated in the common areas. Now that all the positive points are out of the way, the place, otherwise, is a badly managed mess. Because of the inconsiderate guests in my dorm room, in the hallway and outside, I got little sleep the first night. The second night, more noise and a dormmate’s snoring made it impossible to sleep. I tapped on the steel railing to wake him up and stop his snoring. He blew up. Ton of failures but not enough space here.

The hostel was good for one night. For self check in, if you’ve booked a female dorm you will need a staff member to assist at one point. There was no member available for 10 minutes but no big deal. Rooms & beds were decent. Clean bathrooms and shower rooms

The rooms smelt really bad and bathrooms/kitchen were both dirty and unhygienic. Also lots of kids running around screaming early in the morning and through the night. Disappointing.
