Cool hostel, met nice people in the room. We had one of the good rooms with AC. Sokna, the girl at reception, was a pearl. Didn't get to use the pool due to lack of time but the backyard seemed like a super cool place to hang out. Bike rental and convenience store 30 seconds away. The owner is a little grumpy and not really friendly. Apart from that, nice place to stay at.

This hostel was fantastic, and the owner Mark makes you feel at home during your entire stay. The pool at the hostel was a life saver after a day touring Angkor Wat, and the bar area outside is a great place to meet other people staying there. The entire town is within walking distance to Pub Street and everything, and was overall one of the best hostels I stayed in during my trip. I highly recommended this hostel to everybody I met during my travels who told me they were going to Siem Reap

I loved the place, mainly for the pool which I didnt really leave for the whole 3 days. The english owner was away so the cambodian staff were working really hard to make sure everything was ok. The dorm room was great, no complaints. Very clean, not noisy, and good aircon. If you want a locker it is 10$ deposit at reception. I booked my onward bus from reception. They also arranged a tuk tuk to angkor for me to see the sunrise. I would definitely come here again if I was to return.

Certainly the best hostel in SR that I stayed in. The pool was an awesome bonus for cooling down during the very hot days, which there can be plenty of! The rooms were spacious, though be forewarned the bunk beds are the cheaper metal ones rather then the nice wood ones - so expect a loud and shaky night of sleep if you're in a room with dorm beds (ie: 4 bed "family room") Location is great - a quick walk from the bar area. And the artwork on the walls outside is very unique and cool!!

The staff were very helpful especially Mark (the owner). The pool is huge and great for escaping the heat of the day. The location is ideal as it's only a two minute walk to pub street. The atmosphere is great whether you want to chill or party.

Love this hostel, the swimming pool is def a plus in the hot days of cambodia. Cold water in the shower doesnt matter as is really hot in the place. I didnt like the fact that we didnt have a key for the dorms or lockers inside, i got stolen a pair of trousers and the bathrooms were full of mosquitoes, u couldnt avoid get bitten there, maybe some nets in the doors will help

Best thing about this hostel? Incredible staff (Sam, the bartender is absolutely lovely and will surely keep you on your toys and smiling!), shimmering pool perfect for hopping in after a day at the temples, and a perfect location. You won't want to leave (I sure didn't!) and even luckier for you if you happen to be there for a pool party/bbq--so much food and so incredible! Trust me, this place was what made my stay in Siem Reap so memorable!!

The location is great, so is the swimming pool and bar in the garden. During our stay they had an awesome garden/pool party with DJs. On the downside - our A/C was leaking (and I don't just mean a few drops of water), the checkout took forever (somehow the staff were unable to come up with the final bill) and there was water shortage for most of the time (likely not the hostel's fault, but what does that really help...).

I was happy with most aspects of this establishment, however it was frustrating to only have access to running water for half of my 3 days' stay.

This hostel is one that has a swimming pool which is hard to come by here. The food is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is a short walk away from the markets and pub street however it is quite easy to prop up against the bar at the hostel and stay there the whole day! The showers are not at its best but they did the job and our rooms weren't as clean as they could be but all in all I would recommend this hostel as standard is higher than most other places for this price.

Mr. Why Not sat me down when I checked in and showed me on a map where the main tourist area was and what areas to stay away from. A short walk away from the main area. Only wished that when the power to the city went out they had flashlights for the rooms as my phone died, my only source of light, and I had to feel my way around. Great place to stay and when I come back, will definitely come back!!!

An awesome hostel that i wish i could have stayed at for longer. Its cheap, has great staff, awesome facilities including a pool, close to pub street, very good local and western food and in general a place with a great vibe. I would easily come back here to stay and would recommend to others.

Brilliant hostel and having a swimming pool in the heat of Siem Reap made our stay so much more enjoyable! Only negative would be that the rooms are quite basic and could do with some hooks. Wish I was by the pool now :)

After whole day in the temples swimming pool in hostel was a real bless. And this swimming pool is a clean one with nice bar and resting area. Staff speaks fluent English, is always helpful, and competent. I would recommend this place to everybody One more thing – if you travel for some time and you already dream about real English breakfast and other treats like Cesar salad… you will get this all there.

Downtown Siem Reap Hostel was more than a pleasure to stay. The atmosphere that Mark (owner) has created is one of a relaxing, safe, and social atmosphere with everything you could want. There were many days that we could have easily stayed at the hostel all day with the swimming pool, outdoor bar, food served poolside or in a seating area as well as very helpful and friendly staff. The location is very close to pub street and convenience stores right around the corner. Highly recommend DSRH

I really enjoyed my stay at Downtown hostel. The staff were very helpful, and only a 2 min walk to the action of Pub street. Having a pool to come back to after a day of temple seeing was by far the best reason to stay here. Some lovely tuk tuk drivers outside the hostel that made my visit to Angkor Wat! Would definitely recommend!!

All the staff, particularly David, were nothing but helpful to us. He arranged a number of our activities without any hesitation. The accommodation itself was serviceable. The beds were semi-comfortable, fans and AC in the room, but there did at times seem to be a stench coming from the room. The pool is an absolute plus, and there is a bar and restaurant which is well-priced.

The staff is very, very helpful and friendly, I just live them. The pool is great but apart from that the hostel is not that special: the beds are really instable, there's only one plug in every room, there are mosquito nets etc. I stayed in a 2 dollar hostel most of my time in siem reap and their beds where much better! At the downtown siem reap hostel it's the pool you pay for; the rest isn't worth that much
