Great hostel 2mins walk from the night market and 5mins from the centre of town. The staff were friendly and the price pretty good. It's an ideal place to stay in Dunhuang for any backpackers!

Half hostel, half laundry, this hostel is really caters. For the early risers, there is a conveniently located truck loading station next door where you can hearing yelling and engines in the early hours of the morning. For those who like to test their resolve, the adventure to the filthy bathroom will appeal as you cross the shifting lake at the bathroom entrance. Flushing optional. Like construction? You can fix the beds. Location is good though and wifi is reasonable

There's not many choices for dunhuang to stay at. The hostel itself is okay and the facilities are a bit lacking. Bathroom is always flooded with water and footprints, the staff is hard to speak English to, there's not much in the city to see besides the museum. It's also hard to get a taxi outside the hostel. They seem to offer a one day tour of the area which included jiayuguan, dunhuang, and the landscapes surrounding the area.

The bathrooms could use mats, more hooks, better drainage system and perhaps more frequent cleaning. Staff were not at all friendly but the lounge was big and a nice place to relax in A/C. There were enough hangers on the clothes line in the laundry area for everyone. The rooms were quiet, beds and lockers were big. The location is close to the beautiful night market and food streets, and we walked the 5 km to the Crescent Moon Oasis, though you can get a shuttle for a few RMB, or a taxi.

Great!. If I ever go back, I would definitely stay here again. The only down sight was the cleanliness of the toilet.

A solid hostel that is very large. Seems to be the going rate for Dunhuang. Good location in town, pleasant staff (though constantly in demand), useful info on hand, sufficient English spoken to get by. A good place to meet English speaking holidaying Chinese. Their Tour is extremely extensive (16hours!), taking in every desert site en route to Yadan for a few hours around Sunset. Pool table was useful to escape the desert sun too.

Decent hostel, easy to get to places around it. Good facilities; we took their camel tour, their day trip to the yardang landforms and the free shuttle from the airport. Beds comfy and each with power socket and lamp. Bathrooms okay, occasionally no hot water in the showers, one western toilet. Facilities for washing clothes too.

Hostel is a great location, close to the markets and within a 25-30¥ taxi cab to Mogao caves and the crescent lake. Easily accessible from the local bus as well. Staff was very friendly as well despite little English, however, were confused on where to get tickets for the Mogao caves - TICKETS MUST BE BOUGHT A DAY BEFORE GOING AND SELL OUT QUICKLY! Went at 11 the day before and only had 8 tickets left for the next day. Bathrooms were dirty but overall good experience - ps zero nightlife

Overall a good stay. Rooms are clean but the bathrooms overflow with water when the shower is used. The common area is relaxing with big couches and a pool table. Tried to get some help to go different scenic spots but the lady at the counter was really not helpful even when the conversation was in chinese. The most incompetent staff member I've incountered at a hostel. The manager thus seems like a nice guy and helped with bargaining a taxi without us asking for it.
