Decent hostel! No kitchen, kinda filthy showers and bathrooms. Staff were really nice though, and the free tea was lovely! Don’t know how this reflects on the hostel itself, but my room was mostly geriatric shirtless men. Not the vibrant young scene you might want for a night out in Newcastle, but does the job!

Room for improvement: USB outlet in my room wasn’t working (and none of the others I tried worked either). Towels not included, and the curtains could block light a bit better. To use a locker, bring your own lock (since I was only there overnight I didn’t bother). Positives: Nice and clean place! I appreciated the availability of (really fun) board games in the community lounge. Also, microwave by the tea/coffee station helps a lot. Easy to walk to the metro & get to the airport from there.
